Syperphobia 0 Posted August 16, 2003 Short Summary: The taut sci-fi drama tells the story of a team of astronauts who undertake a daring and desperate rescue mission to Mars, where a previous mission has met with tragedy. The four-man rescue team consists of the mission leader and his wife (Oscar nominee Tim Robbins and Connie Nielsen), a technical specialist (Jerry O'Connell) and a backup commander (Gary Sinise). Click for Spoiler: As their craft nears the planet, dramatic events put the mission and the lives of the rescuers in doubt. Desperate measures save three of the four rescuers. When they arrive on the planet, they discover a survivor (Don Cheadle) and begin to sort out his incredible story. The crew then investigates an alien monument that could be responsible for dooming the first mission. The 2000 release was directed by Brian De Palma. The screenplay was written by Jim Thomas, John Thomas and Graham Yost, and was based on the story by Lowell Cannon and Jim Thomas & John Thomas. Theunicornhunter 2 Posted August 16, 2003 I did not like this movie (rented it) and tomorrow I'll be glad to hear what you thought. There was this movie and the Val Kilmer's movie called "The Red Planet". there was also a UPN made for TV called "Escape from Mars" that came out about the same time.
