Sci Fi Channel Becomes SurgeTV...

Since I edit segments concerning Sci Fi alot on Wikipedia (mostly the S.C.I.F.I. World one this morning), I came upon this questionable content relating unto the channel's future....

Effective November 1, 2006, the SCI FI Channel will change their name to SurgeTV, to reflect the changing demographic thrust of the successful long-running cable channel.

As the actual source met with deletion and this article stating that it was utter felgercarb, it was removed from Wikipedia page..

...But I thought it was worth noting anyways, seeing as The Nashville Network became SpikeTV, TechTV and G4 merged and went off in a different direction, and Boomerang now airs recent and 90s cartoons...

Lol, the Fark thread thereon is a pretty plusgood read....

Kinda sad seeing that ECW is the network's highest rated show, but G4 has its Kaiju Big Battel..

 

Though, it's safe to say (I hope) that this is simply a bogus rumour.. But if not, well.....
