After a bit of research I discovered this info: According to an article from Sound on Sound, Dec. 1998, John O'Connor co-wrote Star Trekkin' with Graham Lister in 1986. 500 copies were originally put out. It became wildly popular in 1987, hitting #1 in the U.S. for two weeks. O'Connor originally had a hit with a tune based on the Minder tv character Arthur Daley in the early 1980's in Britain. O'Connor moved to California in the late 1980's and after ups and downs, now writes music for the King of the Hill tv series!
