Jim Phaserman 0 Posted February 27, 2006 Alright, anyone who's spent any time at sea aboard a Navy ship knows the excitement of the last day. After listening to Sawyer Brown's "Six Days on the Road", I got an idea. I rewrote it, called "Six Months out at Sea" Now, for you're pleasure, here are the lyrics. I haven't recorded it yet, and I'm almost afriad to...I sing horribly. Well I pulled out of Hawaii headin' up to Southern C-A We've got the turbines spun up and she's running like a never before There's the sun overhead all right, I don't see a cloud in sight Six months out at sea and I'm gonna make it home tonight I got two screws spinnin and the rudder's stearin' right, I'm seein' little white birds and my eyes are open wide Just passed a Yacht on the right, we've been passing everything in sight Six months out at sea and I'm gonna make it home tonight Well it seems like a year since I kissed my baby goodbye I could have a lot of woman but I'm not like some of the guys I could find one to hold me me tight, But I could not make believe it's right Six months out at sea and I'm gonna make it home tonight Well this ol' CG is a chuggin' on down the line we're a little ahead of time and our log books are way behind But nothing bothers me tonight, I can dodge all the stops all right Six months out at sea and I'm gonna make it home tonight Our ship's a little old but that don't mean she's slow There's a flame from her stack and the smoke's rolling black as coal Our home port is coming in sight, if you think we're happy your right Six months out at sea and I'm gonna make it home tonight Six months out at sea and I'm gonna make it home tonight Six months out at sea I'm gonna make it home tonight
