Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 23, 2005 It's a state holiday in Utah (only place I've ever lived with a paid state holiday) - when I lived there it was actually a larger celebration than some Federal holidays. I was actually surprised to see it listed on some holiday origins pages. Here's some background: holidayorigins.com holidayspotplus And yes, it is celebrated outside of Utah.
