Itchygomba69 0 Posted July 12, 2005 I was in a pretty bad car wreck today, we hit fog on th highway this morning so the girl I was driving to work slowed down, and Chevy Suburabaan crashed into our rear pushing us off the load, we were going 45 he said he was going 70, MaryAnn was OK her seat broke so it ook most of the impact, I got some glass in my left eye (back window Shattered) and have major whiplash, ( i refuse to wear the neckbrace) and a Bone Bruise on my kneecap, all considering I feel lucky

Angela 1 Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) I have had whiplash, wear the collar for two hours on two hours oof, otherwise you WILL have LONG-TERM neck pain. I have had whiplash 4 times, and I can tell you the pain I do get on occassion (just from sleepingwithout proper support, is chronic, I end up mixing pain meds and occassionally take a codeine med. Please take care of your neck, you need to allow your neck muscles and tendons which have been torn to heal and for that to happen you need it to be supported. Its a lot like support for a spained knee. Sorry for the lecture, I just care.. I am glad all told you are ok. Ace 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Really glad you're alright, DW. I hope all your expenses can be taken care of as well.
Kor37 9 Posted July 12, 2005 Glad you're ok DW! I've been in a few wrecks myself so I join UA in advising you to wear the stupid collar. It could save you from some long term pain. Also, get yourself a good lawyer. Don't expect your insurance company to look out for you. As soon as the insurance company sees you ahve a lawyer, they will give up trying to lowball you. KIMIMELA 1 Posted July 13, 2005 Oh, good Lord, bless you you're alright! You will be in schock and you will be in a lot of pain if you don't wear that kneckbrace! I lay in hostpital all afternoon with mine on. It'll be better for you in the long term. :P :doctor: It brings back the horrors reading that. I'm so glad you are ok! *Gentle hugs*
Itchygomba69 0 Posted July 13, 2005 (edited) well i woke up this morning not feeling too bad, besides my knee which has a huge bruise on it, my neck feels ok, but i am wearing my knee brace (3:16 like) Edited July 13, 2005 by dragonwrangler95
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted July 13, 2005 Let me guess DW; "real men" don't wear neck braces right? What about the glass in your eye, did you have it removed or are you waiting for it to dissolve? I cannot say it's good to hear you're all right because clearly you are not so instead, I'll say it's good to hear you're alive and that your passenger is OK. One part is a little unclear in your post, (maybe because you have a mild concussion or something, probably nothing to worry about though) ... we hit fog on th highway this morning so the girl I was driving to work slowed down ...you were driving but she (the girl) slowed down??? Do I really want to know?
Itchygomba69 0 Posted July 13, 2005 (edited) I meant to put the Girl I was driving with to work No they flushed my eyes out and the neck brace make sme very clasthophibic (SP) thats why I am not wearing it Edited July 13, 2005 by dragonwrangler95
trekz 7 Posted July 13, 2005 Very glad to hear you are generally ok, DW. Please take care and follow the doctors orders. Like Kor, I have also been in a few wrecks, so don't be surprised if things begin to feel sorer or worse in a couple days, and then slowly improve. Thank (put in your diety here) that it wasn't worse, although it sounds bad enough. Please get well soon and wear that stupid brace. My neck is hurting right now (in sympathetic pain!). Itchygomba69 0 Posted July 14, 2005 hey thanks to everyone who cared, I did wear the neckbrace today, but i felt worst with it on, the more I move the better I feel, and the Doctor at the ER I went to said if I feel better without it, dont wear the neckbrace, ive been watching alot of History Channel, today the had America Drinks History in a Glass, it was about all the drinks we made in america, after seeing it I wanted a beer really bad, but I can due to the 3 meds the Doc gave me Motrin 600 MG, Flexeril 10 MG, &Vicodin 5-500 MG, and the meds make me really drowsy, well anyway thanks again to everyone that cared
Kor37 9 Posted July 14, 2005 Be sure your lawyer gets the insurance company to throw in a couple of cases of your favorite brew as part of the settlement...........lol.
