I respect how they tried to walk the tightrope of "We want Bashir to do it, but we want him to learn from this experience too," but I have mixed feelings about the actual execution of it. I like Dax's reality check to him though. Nicely delivered. I was kept guessing as to what was Trevean's deal too. I though maybe he was a Founder who was supposed to keep tabs on the population.
