Stephen of Borg 2 Posted March 10, 2005 Have the uniforms on Enterprise ever remind you of the uniforms worn by Dr. Crusher’s crew in the future on the TNG episode “All Good Things…” Two things I noticed that are similar 1.Both uniforms have the same color; Crusher’s uniform is all red, Archer’s uniform is all purple. 2.The Pip rankings are on the chest instead of the neck. I just thought it was interesting they used the same basic ideas.
mj 7 Posted March 10, 2005 I never gave it much thought, but it is true that fashion trends repeat themselves over time. I still think Crusher' s uniform reminds me more of the TNG/DSP/VOY era uniforms, because of the material. It's that stretchy man-made material stuff. Archer's uniform looks like cotton or a cotton blend and reminds me more of today's military. It's a good comparison, though...lots of points of commonality, as you pointed out. A l t e r E g o 9 Posted March 10, 2005 Uniforms similar to those worn on ENT show up at other times throughout the Trek saga; in TOS many secondary crew members are seen walking around in similar jumpsuits and in at least one VOY episode in season 1 (Tuvok tutors Maakee(sp?) members in the fine points of being part of a Starfleet crew) more similar jumpsuits are being worn as workout clothing.
