This is an image I found online that dates back to 1863.

I like the messages contained within the image... Pray for those who've left, love those who you've left behind, and always remember those left in the hands of whichever god you believe in.

You're right... This is a sad image. Sad for the people then, and sad for their counterparts today.

 

But there is always war. Whether it is on the battlefield, or in our hearts, war is constant. So, like I said, we all need to pray, love, and remember.

It's a sad picture - sad that 141 years later things are still the same - families praying for their soldier on the battlefield.  (this is a civil war image)
