Lesson 1 Question Center

If you have any questions about lesson 1, then please ask them here and I (or someone else) will try and figure it out.

This topic is also for figuring out the problems in the Lesson 1 packet (it is at the end of the packet)

:andorian: ( Can you say no way!) :borg2:

tlhIngan Hol jIghItlhbe’

[i do not write in Klingon]

[Actually it is not that hard. The only hard part is understanding how to pronounce it. Other that it is not that bad! You should give it a try]

[:)

I love Klingon...But.

I can practically tie my tounge in knots trying to speak it...Lol! B) ]

[The only real way to learn how to pronounce Klingon (because we really can’t do it here) is read the beginning of the Klingon Dictionary. However, (some good news) they actual have an audio book of the Klingon Dictionary! (I don’t have the audio book, but I will probably buy it at a future date)]

Well because we have done #1 in the “Translation Game” . . . . . .

#1: tlhIngan Hol ghoj tera’ngan

= The human learns Klingon

When you think you understand lesson one (for the most party, anyways), then please answer at least 2 questions (one from the top and one from the bottom part)

11. I see you - jIH legh SoH

That’s not correct.

I recommend that you re-read Lesson 1 and look at my short-hand notes.

First off remember:

Sentence Structure --> Object-Verb-Subject

Verbs --> The prefix has both subject and object

SO it would be...  SoH legh jIH??????

No

Like I said a verb has both subject and object.

I see you.

Where is the verb?

Where is the subject?

Where is the object?

The verb is “see

The subject is “I

The object is “you

See” = legh

Now we have to conjugate the verb . . . . . .

This is what we know from lesson 1:

jI

subject: I

object: none

bI

subject: you

object: none

qa

subject: I

object: you

cho

subject: you

object: I (or me)

So conjugate the verb according to where we have the subject as “I” and the object as “you”.

I see you. = Qalagh

Does that make sense?

If it does not, then please say so - I’ll be happy to elaborate more.
