Fluidic Space

Fluidic space is just what it sounds like. It is an area of space that is composed of fluid (liquid). Kind of like an area of space that is like and ocean..

A vast ocean of liquid and semi-solid matter, rather than a mostly empty vacuum, with no obvious signs of stars or planets.

ok theres fluid, but why, and how? do they just go through it like normal space? inquiring minds wanna know. :innocent:

Just as humans have adapted there technology to travel through space, Species 8472 have adapted their technology to travel through Fluidic space.

Since fluidic space is organic matter it would be thicker than watter though, I guess it would be closer the the consistancy of plasma in the human blood streem.

Please note: Fluid does not mean liquid. Air is fluid. As well, an organic fluid doesn't necessarily mean a higher viscosity. Rarefied regions about certain quasars have been

shown - amazingly - to contain organic molecules, but with a density about 10 million times

lower than air.

Of course, many denser things are also fluids, including water and glass.

That is one very large misconception on what a “fluid” really is. Something that “flows” is a fluid. Liquids and gases are of course fluids. They don’t have any definite shape (but if you put a fluid/gas in a container then that fluid will assume that shape).

 

 

If we talk about some regular solid, then that solid does have some definite shape and definite volume. However, when we talk about a liquid it only has definite volume and when we talk about a gas it does not have either.

 

Of course we can only speculate what exactly 8472's space was like (or is like). All we really know is that Fluidic. But it would be interesting speculating

There were two other species in Star Trek Episodes that were from Fluidic Space. Do you remember who they were?? Which episodes were they in? I remember one of them, what was the other one?? Not 8472, but two other ones.
