cassidy 0 Posted May 17, 2003 why do the borg make cubes aswell as spheres cos cubes arent very aerodynamic. wouldnt it use up more dilithium or whatever the borg use to power their ships?
ddillard 2 Posted May 17, 2003 Well, kind of. If you think about it the borg cubes always fly with the corner facing front, which is very aerodynamic. And remember there is no air is space to slow them down.
deagletime 1 Posted May 17, 2003 you all are contradicting yourselves.. aerodynamic implies a dynamic in air... space is a vacuum and as such aerodynamics is irrelevant... now if you are talking about generating a subspace warp field..it is logical that a more sperical or elliptical shape would be efficient

That is what I was going to post, but since you have already stated the point so well, I will just add this little bit... If you think about it the ship the borg used in First Contact, to create the spacial anomaly to travel back in time...is spherical. Which goes to show that a spherical ship would be more beneficial in certain applications.
