Jim Phaserman 0 Posted May 30, 2004 I found so much on him, there is too much to compress and post, so I will just post the Citation for his Medal of Honor. Rank and organization: Corporal, U.S. Army, Company G, 328th Infantry, 82d Division. Place and date: Near Chatel-Chehery, France, 8 October 1918. Entered service at: Pall Mall, Tenn. Vulcan IDIC 0 Posted May 30, 2004 (edited) Yes, one of the most decorated heroes of WWI. There was a movie made of him starring Gary Cooper. It's a very good movie. He did not want to go into the Army at all and was actually considering being a conscientious objector, but he went in anyways. He was not fond of killing people at all even in war and that's why he wound up capturing a lot of the men. It's a pretty amazing story for those who haven't read about it before.
