Jim Phaserman 0 Posted May 30, 2004 (edited) Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt Jr was 54 in 1944. he was the oldest man in the D-day invasion, and one of several Medal of Honor winners. he didn't wear a helmet, just a woll knit cap. he is known for shouting out "We've landed at the wrong place, But we'll start the war from here!" as he urged troops on Utah Beach. the scene is something somewhat reminescent of his father's famous charge up San Juan hill (though it wasn't really San Juan hill.) His father, Theodore Roosevelt Sr, the Former President, would have been proud of his son. Edit... By the way, I plan on posting more "Profiles" of various Medal of Honor winners throughout the rest of the weekend.
