I don't know if anyone else noticed it or has looked at it yet, but this weeks TV guide has a list of the top 25 TV shows with what they considered to have the largest cult following.

No surprise there! But a "cult" show? Well, I've heard it called worse by people who don't like it. :blink:

I agree, I don't know if I would call a cult following........ I like to think of it more as extremely dedicated fans. :blink:

I always hated the usage of cult following...

It was great but people thought that it was a occult film instead of cult film...

The biggest problem is that people don't actually see the show they just make assumptions on what they've heard. Then when they get a chance to see it, they immeadiately think "nerd show".

Well as I understand it most *cult* followings involve movies like the Rocky Horror Picture Show and the Posiedian Adverture but then if Trek has a cult following being both a series on t.v. and movies at least it's harmless and no one gets hurt by flying toast or sea sick.

How can it have a large cult following? Doesn't that just make it mainstream but not super popular with all groups?
