VaBeachGuy 12 Posted May 28, 2004 From STARTREK.COM: http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/help/faqs/faq/676.html As a rule of thumb, the events that take place within the live action episodes and movies are canon, or official Star Trek facts. Story lines, characters, events, stardates, etc. that take place within the fictional novels, the Animated Adventures, and the various comic lines are not canon. There are a couple of exceptions to this rule: the Jeri Taylor penned novels "Mosaic" and "Pathways." Many of the events in these two novels feature background details of the main Star Trek: Voyager characters. (Note: There are a few details from an episode of the Animated Adventures that have entered into the Star Trek canon. The episode "Yesteryear," written by D.C. Fontana, features some biographical background on Spock.)

DrWho42 13 Posted May 28, 2004 I read about this in a copy of Star Trek: The Magazine. Usually, I do no accept ST novels, audio books, comics, fan-fiction, etc., as being canon. Probably the same with TAS since most canon guides choose to call it "non-canon"... I am counting Star Trek: Enterprise as canon, despite what the ENT-bashers say... (For Doctor Who: ) Click for Spoiler: Although I have been including the 9th Doctor, which is an animated webcast made in 2003, where the Doctor is played by Richard E. Grant...
