If the plural of "tooth" is "teeth" why isn't the plural of "booth" "beeth"? Why is the earth round? Why are leaves green? Why does 2+2=4 and not 5? Why is everyone so sure that they know the value of 2? What if 2 is a variable? Why does every cat I see hate me? Why isn't cat spelled with a k? That's the English language for ya. :) Why is the earth round? That's compicated. Why are leaves green? Same reason why the sky is blue. I've no idea what it is in matter that determines what color the object will be. Why does 2+2=4 and not 5? Place two apples on the table. Now place two more apples on the table. Count them, and you have your answer. Why is everyone so sure that they know the value of 2? Huh? :) What if 2 is a variable? This question is incomplete. What is the context? Why does every cat I see hate me? You might secret a scent, that Humans can't detect, that makes cats think of you as a predator. Do you have a dog? His scent could rub off on you and scare cats. Cat food smells bad as it contains either meat that has a very vitamin rich sauce or is really over cooked meat that fermented... The words nose runs etc. and the teeth tooth and booth and you get the point The running of the nose comes from the expression of the mucus running down it. As liquids "run." The feet have a bad smell so they "smell." It is all based on colloquialisms. the teeth tooth thing is one of the many exceptions of the English language. That's why English is so hard to learn as a second language. There are too many exceptions. first of all the earth is a flattened spheroid it is not completely round so technically it's flat at the poles.... Leaves are green because of the photosynthesizing chloroplasts and chlorophyll within their cells. these came to be when symbiotic cyanobacteria infected a leaf and decided that it would be more efficient to be part of the plant. Take calculus and you'll understand the true meaning of 2+2=4 the value of two has been around since 3500 B.C. officially. It is well proven so don't argue. the cats may hate you if they hate your smell, perfume, pheremones, or feel scared Cat is spelled with a c because of the origin in sanskrit I think... Because it's what you were told to accept? For all we know 2 could really be a million...2 is whatever Big Brother says it is. The concept of "two" exists independent of the terminology. We could call it anything but there is only one whole number equal to the number of hands a normal human has - at least in the mathematical system we use.
