Stardate: 0603.2,

Well winter quarter is almost over and I have to find a way to pull three essays off. For some reason I can write, but math is a just flying by. The radio show keeps calling me about the thing they want me to do... I think I should bail for a few months and go over seas, but I do not want to risk Murphy's law making my life suck more then it already is. Knowing my luck I woould start World War Three while trying to get a hotel. I need sleep, my school work done, and for people to stop butting into my non-existent love life. Now, back to the papers.

Stardate: 0603.7,

Well I haven't posted a log in so I might as well post one now, and to enter your question Kor I have no idea if I'm actually going to the conventions at the Space Needle on September. Today I stayed home from college to get some needed work done. This work consists of the essays I needed to get done for English class and the remainder of the math homework for this quarter. I have only two assignments left to do for my math class and that will have no more homework for math for this quarter. My math final will be Tuesday next week. I have registered for my Spring classes. It is a toss up right now if I will get meteorology 101 for next quarter or taking journalism 101. In English I have three essays left and I will have one done by tonight, and I have a letter in video must write in which I hope to have done by tonight for also. After Wednesday next week I'll have no classes until the 27th, and in between then and the 27th I have a lot of things to get done... namely see a doctor. I haven't seen when it over four years so I think it's time for checkup. Also I'll be having a meeting with video again. At this meeting will be doing a update for the channel software firmware, explaining ways to fix the electrical problems in case there is a power outage, and making sure that everything is ready for spring break for the school. So, yeah, I have a lot on my plate, but I should be able to take care. And I don't pass English well... the next person that posts can hit me up side my head for two days because my idiocy. I'm sure Kor will have a field day with that.

Stardate: 0603.16,

I just ended winter quarter everybody so that some good news. Spring quarter starts on March 27th and between now and then I will be helping my dad with some lawn work, get all of my financial aid paperwork taking care for next school year, have a meeting at South for the video department, go see a doctor for a checkup which I have not done in seven years, and do some long distance biking. As for how I did this last quarter the only thing all say is that I could have done better in English. Before I end my log I'd like to say that tomorrow I will have some big news. Very big news. The "I don't believe it!", "Holy cow! How?", and "Wow!" type of news. You'll find out tomorrow.

Stardate: 0604.22,

Yikes!!! It's been over a month since I posted my last long and I left it as a cliffhanger... not to mention that the post I have made over the past month and one week have been few and far between with only Ken's commentaries and news that my laptop was trying to make my spring quarter of college a living nightmare. So, I got a little over a month to cover about my life and believe me... anything dealing with me is a story on to its self. Before I start this long log I like to note that the radio show and I are on talk terms... they got calls from listeners saying that what they wanted me to do was over the top, so the radio station dropped it. Also, I am using a smaller font today for this will be a very big log... Now to start off...

In the begging there was a big explosion... opps! Sorry, that's the start of the book. Let's see... It was at 11:40 A.M. pacific daylight time on April the 22nd of the year 1986 that Matthew came crying into this world... OK... getting closer... At the age of three Mathew would some times... Yip! That is something we are not going to go into. OK, how about this... Chapter 250: March of 2006 to April of 2006 - Close Calls and Bad Feelings... There we are, and now to the log.

As for the big news I was going to tell everyone about, I had won a trip to one of ten places in the U.S. for three days/two nights, or a five day cruse in the Bahamas. I gave my trip thing to the person I have been working on and off for the last two years... a.k.a. the dog groomer... She is going to use it to see her son. I really couldn't use... I would have to pay for air fare and transportation, and the income of a college student really can't do that, now can it?

On Sunday the 19 I biked over 20 miles to get to my dad's place to spend the greater part of my spring break helping him with lawn work. The biking was in two parts that took around three hours. The first part was mostly up and down hills in the northern part of the county. After that I took a ferry ride over to the east side of the Puget Sound then biked another 11 miles, all up hill, to my dad's. While there I helped pull three stumps, and chopped some wood. In all, at the end of three days I was feeling like I got hit a big rig... this single thought would come to hunt me in less then a week. After helping my dad and getting back to Port Orchard, I had a meeting at the high school to get to for video production. After that nothing really happened until March 27.

On March 27 I got up at 0430 to get ready for my spring quarter at O.C. I was going to talk to the weather teacher to see if I couldn't still get in. Also, instead of taking English 101 again I went for Begging Acting. I figured it might help later on in life. At about 0553 I had gotten off the bus, on to my bike, and started to cross the street to O.C. I had a green light to cross and it had been green for about five seconds. I had just about finished crossing the first lane of north bond traffic when a big rig came rushing by. I had little time to take action. I tried to break and at the last second I let go of my handle bars right before my front tire got nicked by the 5th wheel of the 18-wheeler. After it past by I was in some shock... I mean, who wouldn't be? I had almost got hit by a big rig, which had ran a red light, was speeding from the looks of it, and didn't even stop after what happened. I crossed the street and mad the rest of my way to O.C. after I saw that the bus I just got off, stopped because of the red light and blocked my view of seeing if the big rig was coming, take off trying to catch up with the big rig. Unfortunately the bus didn't and I didn't see anything I could ID the big rig with. I hate close calls like that.

The rest of the day went OK... I was able to get into Meteorology 101, get to all my classes on time, and was back on talking terms with the radio show. The one thing that I realized around noon that almost made me want to put my head through a wall was that I was wearing a red shirt that day... a plan, dark red, red shirt! I just started to busted up laughing. Some one I know looked at me and asked why I was laughing. I just turned to them and in between my laughing I forced out, "I'm wearing a red shirt!!! I got nicked by a big rig... with how my luck is I should have seen that one coming a mile away!" My friend thought for a bit then realized I was talking about TOS red shirts. My friend then said, "Well... they missed you... So, when's the retake?" My friend laughed as I glared at him, but went back to laughing... glad there wasn't a take two.

That weekend I encountered a problem on my laptop. I had some how received MUL wear on my laptop while visiting a site that I have gone to daily for almost a year. My planes where to back-up everything, re-install, and reload. But... this seems to happen a lot, don't it?... my dad had borrowed my copy of XP Home and I couldn't find my pass code for my copy of XP Pro. My dad said to try a few things, which took hours to do, to try to fix my laptop. By Sunday, this all started Friday midday, I was about to throw in something, like a slug hammer, and call it quits. I had backed up everything to a mobile USB 40 Gig hard drive in case I did something that took out my computer for good. Some how, I'm still not sure, I was able to find my pass code for XP Pro. I formatted, re-installed, updated, and re-loaded everything by nights end. Unluckily for me this wouldn't be the end of my computer problems for a long shoot.

On April the 5th I was in begging acting doing an improve game called What Are You Doing. In this game you ask what some one is doing, they say an activity, and you act out said activity. We were a few times around in when I went up for my turn. I asked what they were doing and they said, "Labor Pains." ... ... ... To note that my acting teacher is due with her first kid in mid June... To say I didn't do anything would be a lie. I did do something... I fell to my knees, lend back a bit, and laughed. What else was I going to do?! I mean so far up to that point it was easy... biking, running, painting, fighting, eating... But labor pains... I do know that no women laugh while that happens, but it was the only thing I could do at the moment. By this time I realized that it might have better if I had gone for English 101 again.

Another weekend came rolling around and another computer problem hit, and this one was a killer. I was working on weather homework, which I was behind due to last weekend’s problem, when my computer for some reason turned off. The charge light was off and after a quick load up to the log on screen and going down again I knew it was gone. The laptop lasted me three years and four months... not bad for laptops, but it did need to be sent in about six different times. The really bad part about this is that most of my files are on the hard drive. I had just did a format of the Mobile USB hard drive to NTFS and had only moved some of my files on to it before the crash. I should have all my old files by tomorrow, I hope, for I need to get to my class work and I need some music to listen too.

Having no computer was a pain, no matter what way you look at it. My dad said I could probably get one by late May, the radio show said to bad, and the rest of my family... well their the rest of my family. I borrowed a friend’s old Windows 98 computer for the time being so I could do my weather homework and have some net use. On Wednesday I went over to my on and off job to help out when I brought up the bit about my laptop with the groomer. Before I knew it, after we got done working that is, we were on our way to Circuit City in search for a new laptop. After an hour of searching, credit checks, and finding the box I got an Averatec 3700 Series laptop. Much, MUCH, better then the Gateway Solo 1450 I had. The deal is as stands... We use her credit card and I pay her every month until it's paid off. The laptop is $1000 after everything so I will pay $50 a month. In summer when I start getting more money from VA I'll pay more of the price a month. Hopefully by September I can have it all paid off and one less woe hanging over my head.

Nothing really big happened over the next week until I heard some bad news Thursday afternoon. Just to state for the record: I do not like the war in Iraq, but I do respect the people who put their lives on the line to try to bring freedom to Iraq. That being said, I found out on Thursday afternoon that Devon Gibbons, graduate of South Kitsap High School, class 2005, was greatly injured when his vehicle got hit by a roadside bomb. He was the only one to survive with 90% of his body cover in burns and having to have both his legs amputated. I did know Devon in high school... he was one of the people that use to pick on me before high school, I also had some classes with him at South... he is also the first person from Port Orchard, or Kitsap County for matter to be injured in Iraq. Kitsap County, for lack of a better words, is one big military base. There are over seven bases in the county that were just recently formed into one base called Base Kitsap. I can not say what this has done to many people around here, but I can say it has made many former classmates of mine realize their own mortality if nothing else. As for myself... even though the reports say he might not make it... I know he will. My class is to arrogant and stubborn to have one of themselves get killed.

On Friday some of Devon's friends held a party in honor of him right down the hall from my place. I my self call it just another reason for them to get drunk. I went to the part just to make sure no one did something stupid and also to meet some people from school that I haven't seen since June last year. Out of everyone there I was the only one not drinking, and to note for the record again I was one of the oldest people in the class. I meet a friend for video, talk to some girls I knew, and talked to one of Devon's friends that has the place and told him my views on what happened... it's always good let the emotional mask come down from time to time. I left for a bit, and when I came back I was told there was a fight, but only yelling. About 2300 some of the girls at the party, after finding out I had a place down the hall, asked if they could use my bathroom, seeing as the one there wasn't really working and had a person puking in there. I said yes and found out that I could fit six girls in my bathroom that night... I let the girls from the party use my bathroom until 0200. Around this time I was back at the party when a friend of my just went off on me, and I was just trying to help some else. Now I should have let it slide for she was drunk, but I didn't. I had heard of some of the things she does to people and have seen some of it first hand, but I let it slide most the time because she was one of the few friends I had threw junior high and high school. For all that she had earned respect from me, and in my book you have to earn respect not have it given to you. I went up to her and said, "Lindsey, I respect very few people and you have just lost that respect." After that I left and called it a night. I haven't seen Costello since.

Besides from something’s in my weather class, due to my teacher, I have been OK health wise since after the "Big Rig Nick". I have been trying to eat normally, get sleep when I can, and bike anywhere and everywhere I go. I still need to see the doctor that I haven't seen yet and I hope to do that before the month is out before my dad gets on my case. Also, I need to work on my website some more then I do right now, get back into making my own food, and see my family... I'm not sure if I should say more or less, but I want to at least know what the heck is going on from time to time with them.

This past week I got some early birthday gifts. They were dropped off to the radio show by a listener and the total is worth $350!!! Man... I have nutty lucky. I thanked the person, who from what I found out helps out a lot of people, and came back from Seattle from a wet filled Friday morning. Today I biked some and plan to watch a movie for my birthday and finish all my homework tomorrow... and try to get a little ahead as well.

Well... that's it. I'll take questions and answer them tomorrow and I hope to post more often.

Stardate: 0604.28,

Sorry to hear that kor. Luckly this log will be a short one. I have some math homework to do this weekend for a test on the 2nd of May, I have two papers for acting to get done, and some weather homework, but that is easy as pie... not pi. I'm going to a talent show tomorrow at South for the fun of it and for a little break from school work. Nothing big so far this week, but sleep has been a main thing I have been trying to get and really need to make it through the last part of the spring quarter. One last thing to note is that my transfer to UWA next summer seems to be in the bag... I'll be able to leave O.C. in just over 15 months.

Stardate: 0605.1,

To say that I am not feeling good would be like saying the Pacific Ocean is a little wet. I feel like my head has been hit by 20 footballs, and like those times at school before 8th grade when I really did get hit by 20 footballs to the head, it is not a good feeling. I didn't go to classes today, but I have to go tomorrow. I have the math test and I really need to get a few bank things done as well. This started about Saturday with a headach, on Sunday my throt wasn't feeling good, and by today I had a fever, running nose, and a headach the size William Shatner's ego. To say that this helped me get my homework done would be a big fat lia(a.k.a. BFL)! I took some day Q stuff, had a lot os soups, a lot of water, and a lot of tea. Well... I hope I can make it to school tomorrow with out passing out on the way there, while in class, and on the way back. Now time for me to get some sleep... and maybe a neck rub too.

I recommend Advil Severe Cold & Flu medicine. If you take it regularly as indicated in the instructions, you will feel a lot better.

Stardate: 0605.8,

Well I was feeling better by Tuesday, but I bet I bombed the math test. I went to my dad's to work on FAFSA for next year. I also chopped some wood, but I should never be let near an axe. In acting we have a play sceen to do inclass this Wednesday and I have to be off script by then... doubt it. Math this chapter is going great... as long as I don't skip into other sections that are not due while working on ones that are by mistake. Wether class is going OK... the teacher hasn't blown something up agian. Also it looks like I might have another year of O.C. then I thought before I can go to UWA. I'm not sure right now, but I'll know by the end of June. Money has been tight and, if I can get my homework squared away, I'll go back working for the dog groomer. But most of all, as always, I need some sleep. I have been sleeping two to four hous when I get home, wake up for a few more, and then go back to sleep for four hours. Not the best thing to do. Now to have a cup a noodle for breakfast.

The life of a college student! It is surely rough! I hate it, then I love it at the same time but when I think I am thinking of my carrer and also working on becoming famous someday. In college, once you find your interests, and learn to master it, it's taking you into a whole new world.... I hope that everything works out for you! FAFSA is a B***h! I really hate it and it takes forever to get done! I going to be working like crazy so I can save up some money as well. Plus I can watch anime on my computer for now through previews from viz and adv. I hope to work for one of those companies some day!

Good to luck you! I will pray for you!

Stardate: 0605.23,

I do believe some one has it out for me with all the things that happen to me. I crashed on my bike today which cased a problem with my laptop screen, but this one has a great warrenty. What that means I can have it fixed with in five days and not pay a cent. Because of said crash I am now behind on papers and I can not use my right thumb correctly at the moment. Math is going OK I just need something explained better for the some problems in the book. Weather class is also going fine as long as I get the final report in on Friday next week and the pressure chart tat is due tomorrow. In Acting I have a run of my monologue and make sure I have all my body monet down for the sceen. FASFA is taken care of, but the due line was March 1 and I got it done May 19. They said I'll get summer money, but I might have to pay for my classes out of my own pocket come begaining of the quarter. Luckly my dad said he'll pay for it then I just send him the money back after I get the check. There is a video meeting tomorrow at the high school which should be some fun. I'm also going to get the paper work done for the summer job at the high school so I am not having to run up there during my finals. I would like to post more, but I am not feeling good and the lines on my screen are hurting my eyes.

Stardate: 0606.9,

It's been two and a half weeks since my last log and trust me I have a lot to talk about. For starters I saw X-Men: The Last Stand and I really liked it. If you haven't seen it yet you should and stay until the end of the credits.

In Acting I had a hard time, but I passed. I did my mono-whatever and passed. The sub said that I was the only one to really use their voice and eyebrows well. Eyebrows?!? I have no idea what they do with acting, but some one said that it help shows emotion Also, one classmate commented that that was the most emotion they had seen me show during the whole quarter... I'm not really sure what to say to that.

Math was a pain these passed weeks. I passed, but man did I have to study for the first time in years in math. It was only on some minor stuff, but it just shows that you have to learn to change to keep on going. It wasn't that bad, but just the fact it was the first class of the day and I had been running on empty most the time it was just hard to keep on the homework. Then with the bike crash I missed a day of class, but I still passed.

My weather class gave me a run for my money with my report that was due. I feel sorry for the near 20 people I almost ran over, on my own two feet, on June the 2nd when I was trying to make it to class in time with a last minute, just done typing it up six minutes before class, report that was worth 20% of the final grade. Passed Weather with a 90.9%, or a 3.4 GPA... which every you want to go by.

I finally sent my laptop out for repairs on Tuesday. I should get it back Monday next week. I was using a normal computer screen hock up to finish some school papers, transfer needed files, and back things up before I sent it out. As of right now they haven't given me a set return date so I might have to wait a bit longer then I thought.

I have a great detest for filling out paper work after all the stuff I have gone through with FASFA for next school year. Let's just say it could take until mid July before I see any money for summer quarter. I should note it starts on June 19th. My dad paid for the classes for summer and once I get the money I pay him back. Luckily this year I'll get more money. This is a very good thing seeing I will not have the scholarship like I did for this past year. As for now I will be very tight on money.

As for being tight on money, which I did plan ahead for to happen this summer, all three jobs that I could do and get easily are not options, which I didn't plan to happen and make me have a bigger bind in my cash flow. As of right now I have only ten buck for the rest of the month for food at best. I am lucky to have enough to last me until June. I'll have to ask for my dad to by my book for the start of summer quarter, but that shouldn't be a problem. The problem comes that I will have to job. The high doesn't have the money to hire me on again, the radio show filled the paid inter spot, and the dog groumers is about to close for good. I still have some things I might be able to pull, but they are all long shoots. My luck strikes again!!!

As normal, for me that is, my family is have problems here and there, but nothing to big at this time to report except one. My cousin Jane, the only besides me on my mom's side to something with their life, is right now in a court case over something that happened a month ago. Apparently some sailor at PSNS told her that the job she was doing on ship was a "man's job". Now my cousin isn't one you would call that... if you want to stay alive that is... Anyways, My cousin gave a retort and the sailor found it to a verbal assaulted so hit hit hurt and held her down with his foot on her back on the deck. The captain on deck came over to see what was going on and once my cousin got up she punched him square in the jaw. The sailor is suing my cousin for the verbal assault while my cousin is suing for the physical assault. To note my cousin is a worker for the shipyard, the sailor is in the USN. I really do not see how she could lose and before you ask I do not know what she said.

Finally got this log done. I started it around 1000 and its now around 1800. Next time I will not take my that much time on a log. I plan to post again on the weekend. One last thing... since school is out for a few days I can finally get nine hours of sleep. I normally get four and a half on school nights.

Stardate: 0606.19,

A lot can change in a day. A great deal can change in a year. One year ago I graduated high school. One month ago I thought college was going OK, and family problems were not a problem. A week ago I was resting up from school and having some needed self time. A day ago I was very close to breaking a few things with my bear hands...

As you can see things change. I found out over this past weekend that I did not pass Math 119. This is a big blow to me for Financial Aid. This means I will get Financial Aid Cancellation. In other words... I screwed myself over by not passing. I had received a 59% on the final. When I took it I didn't think I would have a problem passing... I think the two words 'didn't think' really applies... So now this summer I will need to take Math 119 again and statistics and work my butt off to get at least a 3.0 in both.

The rest of my restful week and weekend never happened. Being low on money I spent most the week doing lawn work for five to six hours a day. Add on to that a six mile bike ride to and from work. On the weekend I found out, last minute, that my grandfather on my mom side would be in town and everyone was going to get together for a little lunch. I was told that this might be the last time I would see him... And family being family my cousins made idiots of themselves! I was surprise we didn't get kick out. I also found out, which would had been the reason why my mom wasn't happy that day, that he might not be my grandfather. There were other things I was told, but I can't say here for content, but I will say that more then ever that my family needs to be on Jerry Springer.

At 126 on Sunday I got a call for some guy on my cell. He was doing prank calls. I looked up his phone number on the internet, called the guy up, and he said he was a drug store. The internet search showed it was a cell. So, with all the other crud over the last three days I took down his number a waited for today.

Today on the radio show I vented... really vented... From my classes to the prank call, I just let out all that happened to me. The person that call me is most likely going to have a high cell bill by the end of the week.

I was hoping to post today how well I have done over the past year since graduating high school and post my plans for the summer. Now... now I just hope I make it to the end of the week before a metal break down... I hate Murphy's Law!

Sorry to hear about your math problems, Matthew. On the bright side, it is MUCH easier to pass a course during summer session than it is during the regular semester. Since the summer semester is so short, they usually skip over a lot of things.

i'm sorry to hear about your f. i just had one this past semester myself. i'm surprised to hear they'll cancel financial aid over an f. i'd talk to your school about that. i had an f my first semester and they didn't cancel mine but maybe things are different at your school. it stinks to have to retake a class but i feel at least i'll have more experience than i did the first time. good luck on it and the rest of your college career!

Stardate: 0610.25,

Yikes... it's been near four months since my last log. There is a lot I'll have to cover, but not right now. Maybe over the weekend, but not right now. For a little quick four-one-one: I passed summer classes, work went OK at the high school, now have the weight of three full time classes at college, family problem(but with how my life is if I didn't have a family problem I know something was up), still have the live version of Cops next door(isn't that the reason I got my own place?), finally got some cool Trek toys, and I'm sure there's more.

Hopefully I'll post more this weekend after my midterms. Right now though... I have to wash my clothes so I'll have something to wear tomorrow. I normally do laundry on Sundays, but something happened that involved leaks, pipes, and the place below me getting flooded. So get ready as I will recall the last four months in about four logs.

... This is going to be fun...

Stardate: 0712.23,

Holly molly!!! College is really the end of life as we know it! Man oh man... Sorry for the cliffhanger I gave everyone over a year ago... I don't even think I could recall what has happened over the last, what would it be... oh ya, 18 months!!! Well, if anyone has seen the few post I have made they could tell you I'm still alive, my mom moved out in early summer 07, I switched apartments in March 07... More room and all that good stuff. Last X-Mas my dad got me a new Computer and... Oh... now I know why I've AWL...

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii…

After many years, eight years to be exact, I was without games. Late October 2006 I finally had enough money to get a consol and I got the Wii... With finals and Zelda I wasn't really near a computer until January 2007. About that same time weather in my area went nuts-o. With that, and school plus work... and little to nothing new in Trek, I just spent most of the time between January and May putting out personal life brush fires. June to September it was school, work, and saying goodbye to a friend that was finally going to WSU.

Somewhere in this time frame my friends got me play D&D and in August got me to join a LARP. These events didn't last long, but it was a start of a real social life. Also, through the year, I'm been on the radio show about ten times! That's a small number seeing back in high school I would call in about three times a week. I just haven't seen the need to call in and I really can't spend my mornings talking to them anymore... I normally have to finish put off homework...

Another thing to note is that back on April 22nd I turned 21. It was a Sunday and I was able to avoid my family... At least my mom's side of it. I got a call from two aunts I never knew I had and my grandfather, who happens to be 80 years old, runs an insurance company in Beverly Hills, California!!! ... I'm rethinking about becoming a meteorologist now... Anyways, he told me I should go to the nearest bar and say, "When DiSalvo drinks, everyone drinks!" Then he told me after I had my beer to say, "When DiSalvo pays, everyone pays!" I didn't go through with his plan... I like staying alive and not drunk. As you call I didn't drink then and still haven't, and I most likely never will...

These past few months have been one big headache. The start of fall quarter was with a sight that many friends, who know I'm a Trek fan and a living red shirt, still use as a joke. The main walkway to where we spend non-class time was remodel and now looks like a transporter pad... And I so happen to see this on a day I was wearing a red shirt... And so did my friends see me in said red shirt under said pad... We get many laughs out of it still, but some one at the college just happen to put the light switch right next to our hang out spot. Not much of a problem... That was until they installed a dimmer switch late in the quarter... If I ever find out who did that their computer will be running 3.1 faster then a comedian could come up with a Bush joke!

Anyways, I have other things to get to and I will... I mean it this time... I will finish this recap later in the week. Tomorrow I’m meeting my dad, little sister, and annoying older sister for some Christmas fun. My dad turns 56 tomorrow, and it will be the first time I'll have seen him after noon on Christmas eve since I could remember.

Out.
