Jeanway

Jeanway awakes feeling fatigued. The unusual heaviness in her limbs makes it difficult for her to get up off of her cot. She looks around her module and sees many of her things on the ground. Not remembering hearing anything during the night she wonders again how this happened. Her door was secured and showed no sign of being opened or tampered with. She hauls herself up with much difficulty and tries to do some stretching exercises thinking perhaps she did too much yesterday and was just cramping up with muscle knots. She made herself coffee and went outside to sit in the sun.

After eating some breakfast and drinking alot of water she begins to feel normal again. Looking around camp she notices the tops of hers and Chakotay's modules seem to be flattend down. Not holding their usual shape. And once again she feels a vibration under her feet. The ground was moving. There was no mistake about this. Taking readings from her tri-corder it tells her there is some tectonic activity going on. It stops and she watches as the modules shapes return to normal. She wishes Chakotay was here and not up on the top of the mountain. "Well, he'll be back tomorrow." She says to herself.

The second day of Chakotay's Vision Quest finds him stretched out on his blanket as the sun comes up. He being on the mountain top above the lagoon his view of the sun alligns directly with the tree tops, and reaching his closed eyes prys them open. The sound of a large bird circling over him draws his attention upward. He rolls onto his back and watches as it's massive out-stretched wings spiral over him. Is this his Spirit Guide? Or is this real? Had been visited in his previous Vision Quest by the Civit-cat and not his White She-Wolf, he wondered. He had never seen such a bird before here on this planet. It was too early in his quest for this to happen. It must be real. The bird flys away. Chakotay sits up and looks towards the sun.

Thank god i am not insane, i am just a little helicopter(brrrrrr.brrrrrr)

Look who I just caught. I was going to bed and he ran by my foot. Isn't he the sweetest thing you've ever seen? The poor little thing was terrified. He's out free in the bushes now. God he's cute! Ok I'm really going to bed now, I just had to show off the cutey.

As Janeway walked through the forest an eerie feeling over took her. A feeling like she knew she was being watched, not followed but watched. She stopped frequently to dig up plants or cut out a piece of bark from a tree. And as she crouched down she would look around and up into the trees. She observed the plants moving eventhough there was no wind. This made her believe that she wasn't alone here. Yet, the green bushes from the ground also seemed to be growing up the trees and mingled in with the branches. She had a critical eye and could see the differences in the shades of green and the types of foliage. And she also observed small stones clinging to the trunks of trees. Since this planets gravity was comperable to that on Earth this indeed seemed strange. She spoke outloud. "Sam, Sam are you here?" Nothing. She thought maybe Sam was following her. She proceded on her way back to camp.

Not feeling at all fatigued even though she had been walking most of the day she decided to go for a swim in the lagoon. She returned to camp to eat then go to the Waterfall. There would still be a few hours of light so she walked to the lagoon. Being alone here now for the first time she didn't hurry to undress and get into the water, she took her time. Lazily she floated in the water near the bank. Looking up at the sky. She missed Chakotay and looked up to the top of the mountain frequently, knowing he was up there. As the sun began to go down behind the trees she decided it was time to return to camp. She dressed and looked up at the top of the mountain one more time. A cloud of smoke was eminating from the top, it was Chakotay's fire.

Janeway now a good two kilometers from camp was busy collecting specimens. She stopped for a while and sat next to the same stream Chakotay had drank from earlier at least four kilometers away from her. When floating on the slow, gently moving current she noticed something odd on the surface of the water. A small patch of cloth from Chakotay's blanket he had taken with him. "How'd that get here?" She said outloud. She reached over the water and plucked it out and looked at it. It had appeared to be ripped, just a small corner. She deduced he must have caught it on something while he was near the stream and the wind blew it in there. She put it in her pocket. Again the water began to vibrate and ripple in front of her. She remembered this same feeling from the night before and started to feel uneasy. She took out her tri-corder and took some readings. The vibrations had ceased by now so nothing abnormal showed on it. She looked around and saw nothing unusual so she continued collecting, this time reversing her direction and heading back towards camp.

Chakotay now had reached the base of the mountain. He stopped to have a last drink of water before he began his climb. As he bent over the stream he caught sight of vibrating ripples on the surface of the water. This part of the stream was well away from the cascade from the lagoon and was usually very still. He stood up and watched for a moment, then it stopped. Thinking this must have something to do with the other strange occurances that happened a few weeks back. He just dismissed it and continued up the side of the mountain.

It was close to mid-day, perhaps a little after when Chakotay reached the summit. He walked about the area to decide where he was to lay down his blanket, remove his clothing and begin his quest. He chose a spot near a tree which would provide him with some shade and a bit of protection if it should rain. He sat down cross-legged on his blanket and enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his bare skin, closed his eyes and tried to make his mind blank. He had begun.

Back in camp Janeway was preparing her specimen containers and packing them up in her knap-sack. Intruments for cutting, scaping and digging and some food and water was included. She headed out in the opposite direction into the forest, towards the clearing where she usually meets up with Sam and his little family.

A good half hours walk away from camp Janeway came upon the clearing where she found Sam waiting for her. She offered him a bit of food and they sat together there on the large rock as they always did. He chattering away and she pretending to understand everything he was telling her. "Well Sam my boy." She said to him as she climbed down off the rock. "I've got things to do and things to find, I've got to go now." Sam looked at her with the same sort of expression she had seen on Chakotay's face at breakfast. She laughed and walked into the forest. Sam just sat there and watched her leave.

"Let me get your blood right now before you go." She said to him as she cleared away the plates and cups from the table. "I have alot of specimen gathering planned for today too, so I should get going. she returned with a small metal tray and set it down on the table. "O.K., which finger will it be today?" She asked him. He stuck out a pinky. Jeanway pierced Chakotay's finger then squeezed a drop on a slide. The she pierced her own and did the same. "Alright then, Catherine?" He asked. " I can go with your blessing, right?" He asked. "Yes, go, I'll be fine. Do you need my help with anything?" She asked. "No, since I won't be eating or drinking for three days all I need is my blanket to sit on. I think I can manage that on my own." They both laughed. Then he stood and kissed her on the cheek. She returned the kiss on his.

Chakotay headed off into the forest towards the nearby mountain where they went to to bathe and fill their water containers. As he walked he made sure he left signs for Catherine to follow if she need to find him. Snapping tree branches and digging arrows in the dirt with his foot. Chakotay was heading to the top of the mountain in search of his Spirit Guide and inner enlightenment and peace. Off in the distance he could hear the monkeys jumping and screaming to each other in the trees. Occasionally seeing them jump from branch to branch in search of fruit.

As Janeway finished her coffee and set the empty cup down in front of her, she looked over at Chakotay who had an odd look on his face. "Is there something on your mind?" She asked him. "Well, as a matter of fact Catherine, there is." He answered. "Well, come on, tell me." She quipped. "Alright, I was waiting for the right time to tell you this, but I feel the need, an urgent and compelling need to finish my Vision Quest." He said. Janeway taken aback by this answered. "And you want to do this here, now?" She asked. "It's not that I want to leave you Catherine, but I feel compelled right at this time to do this, I was hoping you would understand and agree." He continued. Janeway, not sure how she was feeling about this, sat back for a few moment to ponder this request. "If you don't think I should, I won't do it." He said. Janeway answered him. " Chakotay, I'm not sure How I feel about this. You'd be gone for what three days, maybe longer?" She asked. "No, three days and I Will come back. And I will leave signs along the way so if you need to find me it will be easy for you." He concluded. Janeway sat silently. "So that's what the coffee was about, a little bribery in mind Chakotay?" She said jokingly. Chakotay just smiled at her.

The following morning, as the sun rose over the tree-tops, Janeway was busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast for them both. She heard Chakotay in his module moving around and the sounds of a frustrated Chakotay talking to himself. As she brought the the two plates of food she had made out to the table, which was between the two modules, she heard him. "Is something wrong?" She said loudly. "No, Catherine, I'm just having trouble finding something, I'll be right there." He told her.

A loud "AHA!" came from Chaotay's module and he appeared at his door holding a small container in his hand. He walked over to Janeway who was sitting at the table and offered it to her. "What's this?" She asked him. " I remembered I had this but forgot about it until this morning. It was in the bottom of my storage locker." She took it from his hand and opened the top. "COFFEE!!" She screamed. "You've been holding out on me." She said slyly. "No, I just forgot about it." He assured her. Janeway jumped up from her seat and hurried to her module to make two cups.

When she came back, a cup of steaming hot coffee in each hand, she set one down in front of Chakotay as he ate. Then she sat down. She savored each sip. Her eyes rolled as she drank the delicious, black liquid. Chakotay watched her and waited until she was finished to speak.

It was the middle of the night. Janeway was asleep in her module, Chakotay asleep in his. Something woke Janeway up. But she didn't know what it was. A noise? A bad dream? She didn't know so she tried to go back to sleep. As she lay there awake in the dark she felt a slight vibration which lasted a few seconds then stopped. This alarmed her so she left her cot and went to Chakotay's module. "Are you awake?" She asked through the secured door. She could hear him snoring so she left and went back to her module, secured the door and went back to sleep.

Both, getting picked on and bullied are no fun.

U.H., I think saying it didn't affect your relationships with men might be a bit presumptuous. In order to know that for sure you'd had to have two identical, perhaps twin, people go to different schools, one co-ed the other not. All other factors would have to be the same. I've been out of High school for almost 9 years but I did go to co-ed colleges. I did see alot of differences in behaviours between the two very different situations. I think during my teen years if I had more contacts with males I would see them differently than I do now. But I may be wrong, I'm open to that possibility. But when I am around males I am very uncomfortable. I haven't heard any other girls or women in here say that. I think I am woefully inept when it comes to male/female relationships. B)

I did attend all girls school for 4 years. B) I think I do have trouble with males. I just treat them like aliens. B) Sorry guys. The girl can't help it. Yes, it does inhibit your social skills with the opposite sex. I my case anyway. There was still alot of preening going on, only we did it for different reasons. We'd try to top each other. For our European members, we didn't try to "Kill" each other, B) to top each other means to "out do " each other here in the U.S.

Well, it's yet ANOTHER cold, crappy day here in beautiful downtown Racine B) The Barometric Pressure hasn't budged and inch {of mercury}. Still holding at 29.6. The temperature here is a mean 58 degrees and it's heavy overcast. B) Smells like rain.

25 days to go before the first day of Autumn. Anyone want to wager how many days we will reach 100 degrees in the next 25 days??? I'm going out on a limb here now, I'm going to say in the next 25 days we will have a stretch of 3 days when we hit 100.

I will make sure I report EVERYDAY NOW TIL SEPTEMBER 22ND, TODAY IS AUGUST 28TH.

We aren't LOOKING here for 'SPEED' here Hang, we want "ACCURACY'. When we find a brand we like and it's at the right price, why can't you find it?? This IS a direct quote from Fenriz. " How come there are 27 different brands of frozen peas and I bring home the one kind of them you don't want. Why is that??" I swear Hang, he just said this to me yesterday. It was ON the list too. B) So maybe a good tip for you guys is to "READ THE LIST!!!" B)

The days passed without another unusual incident or any new communication from Voyager. Sam and his little family didn't return to camp either. Things seemed to be returning to normal for Janeway and Chakotay. They have been on "New Earth" now for nearly two months. Their intimate situation, along with the advice given by the Doctor which encouraged them to explore their instincts about each other played a large part in both of their behaviors towards each other.

Their feelings for each other became more obvious. And with little else to distract them they grew closer together. Janeway confirmed the Doctor's prediction concerning the decrease in viral activity in their blood by her daily test of Chakotay and herself.

O.K. I'm tired of dealing with this piece-meal. Why don't we girls just TEACH the guys how to shop CORRECTLY????

For instance: If he goes to the store WITHOUT a list, written in PEN, not pencil, so he can't change the list so we don't get mad at them. Fen would actually CHANGE the list. B)

If he can't find something. It never occured to him to ASK someone who works in the store for help. Kind of like NEVER asking for directions when they get lost in the car. B) What's that about anyway???
