  1. Mellow? You must've downloaded The Widow. Either that or Televators. These are the only two mellow songs they have. They rest are mad HxC break-downs that go everywhere and never stop. They have one song called Cassandra Gemmini that is 30 minutes long (but broken into movements) and it is absolutely amazing. Download "Inertiatic ESP" by The Mars Volta. You'll see what I'm talking.

Or maybe even "Rascuache" by At The Drive-In and you'll feel the taste of the Mars Volta's energy.

  2. Anyone listen to the band The Mars Volta?

These dudes are amazing. Absolute Gods.

If you haven't heard of them, maybe you've heard of At The Drive-In? When ATD-I broke up The Mars Volta was formed by two afro-toting members. This band has an almost religious following, they are so popular in the indie scene.

    Anyone else listen to them?

  3. HEY IT'S ME! I've been away.

First of all school: busy, busy, busy.

And then I went on a trip to Europe for two weeks with friends: France, Italy and Spain. Trust me. If any of you ever get the chance, go to Rome and Florence, Italy. And Nice, France. They are beautiful.

And I'm 18! Woohoo! (That's a big deal in Alberta because that's the legal age. I'm a legal adult. Yeeeeeah)

Other than that I've been spending time with my girlfriend, all of my friends (going camping in the pouring rain), and just hanging around.

Sorry it's been so long, and it probably will be a while again. I miss you all!

  4. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I haven't been on this site forever. My life's been crazy. Lots of homework, I'm working a lot, and I'm spending a lot of time with my friends and my girlfriend. It's too bad I have no time for this site anymore. It's sweet. I miss all of you. But I'm sure I won't have much time in the future either. Working to pay for a trip to Europe I'm going on, it's X-mas, my girlfriend's birthday, and then our one-year anniversary all in a short time and I have diploma exams coming up. Also I've just been conditionally accepted to the University of Alberta in the faculty of Engineering for next year. Holy cow.

But yeah I just wanted to know how everyone is and to wish you all a merry Christmas!

    You're all amazing

(Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. Sure I was once a mod here, but this place is constantly changing. VBG, this place still looks great.)

  5. I've tried Pepsi Edge. Normally I don't like Pepsi at all, but Pepsi Edge was so good. Yum. It tasted better than the regular stuff!

Oh and I like brussel sprouts, I absolutely adore broccolli, but I hate cottage cheese. Lol.

  6. The first one: I semi-enjoyed it. Some parts were good despite it's unbelievably slow pace.

However, contrary to how most people seem to think: The Godfather Part II sucked so unbelievably bad. It is terrible. Bad acting, a completely incoherent plot, and it was waaaaay too long. One of the worst movies I have ever seen.

That being said, I haven't even gotten to seeing the third one since I wasn't very impressed and that one is supposed to stink.

  7. Me... I can honestly say that I'm pretty popular. I'm always called funny and nice and I'm a pretty sweet dresser so I look good too. Lol. I've got plenty of friends and a lot of really close ones. And I've got a fantastic girlfriend. I get really good marks and stuff but I'm still considered cool which is sweet. And I'm also different from the rest because I voice my opinion even if others disagree. And I'm not afraid to be me. Honestly, I love high school.

  8. What were you like in school?

    Popular? Unpopular? Cool? Nerdy?

Since this is a Star Trek site and Star Trek fans are stereotyped as nerds, I'd like to know what everyone was like in school. I think it could be an interesting topic.

  9. I like watching the Olympics. I like the Winter ones better than the Summer, but the Summer ones are interesting too. Except for the fact that Canada is really sucking... . What's with that? Oh well. But yeah I think they are interesting.

And in 2010 the Winter Olympics are in Vancouver so I already have a road trip planned for then. Gonna watch the hockey hardcore! Lol.

  10. Just a little too close to Sept. 11 for me. Anyways I have school....

Dude. It was what? 3 years ago? I'm pretty sure you won't go to hell if you watch a movie on the day before.

Not being insensitive or anything. Yeah, it was a horrendous thing to happen, but honestly it was a long time ago and I think everyone can live their lives again.

It's kind of different for me. I had a different experience of Sept. 11. It kind messed me up for a while. I'm not willing to divulge the info but you would understand. the emotional impact is kind of um.... different for me because of certain circumstances.

    251331[/snapback]

Well that's different and I apologize.

And Scaleman... I didn't say anything about forgetting it. I just find that 3 years after the fact, we should, yes stop to think of the people on the 11th, but it shouldn't prevent us from living our lives. That was the purpouse of the attacks.

But really, this isn't the place to discuss this so can we say "conversation over" and "let's get back on topic"? Thanks.

Sorry if I offended anyone. Not the intention.

  12. Holy crap. So I just got back from this film... and it was absolutely amazing. (But make sure you see the first one first or you will be 100% lost).

I'll say one thing: It has, by far without any competition, THE BEST car chase scene I have ever seen! It was so absolutely perfect! Wow!

The only beef I have with it is sometimes the director decided to use the "24" really-shaky-camera-effect a little too often which was distracting, but it kind of subsided by the end of the film.

Anyone else like The Bourne Supremacy?
