well I enjoyed it. And i didn't think about it til later that they were weak in the water sense
I enjoyed the movie all the same, specially cause I didn't
think whilst watching it, the plot between the family was strong enough that it wrapped you up in the narrative.

maybe it was a high density of water on a localised area that killed them, not water in its gaseous form?

Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a good day and a wonderful year 'til the next.

Because for the most part they belong in remedial writing classes???
-
It would have made them a more formdable foe
It reminds me of Independance day, it sucked because sending a plane up into the aircraft and exploding it at its most vulnerable was kinda obvious.

I can see your point. If they had say landed on somewhere like Vulcan then yeah you can understand it but a planet of 2/3's water. thats daft.
I can see the shalaman was trying to do a war of the worlds where the aliens were defeated by the common cold, which is cool and plausable, specially as they never exited their ships in that story. But water??? Nah not a good replacement, perhaps methane would have been better??

That bit and the kids at the party in Brazil. I jumped and squeeled. I am such a girl.

Do you mean Joaquin Phoenix (River Phoenix's little bro btw)

Have I really taken this conversation this far off topic???

mmmm, shall I build a special time travel machine that makes tv shows reality? Just in the interests of scientific exploration. (Well that and so I can get my trip and malcolm BLT!!May I be on your team? You can have Malcolm and Trip. Archer's mine!!!!
Sure, Just so long as Iget Mr Blonde and Mr British
Hmmmm....I sense a conflict brewing over Mr. Blonde
We can share mr Blonde. So long as Mr British is solely mine.
Sounds like a good plan
Agreed *shakes TUH's hand

I think the actors from TNG have just about had it and I think though we love the characters, we have had itwith them too. I think this was best seen in the revenue it caught in a non recesionary market. Perhaps world events affected it. We will never actually know.
I would love a voy film or if it gets cancelled and ent film. I think DS9 should be a mini series every few years thing!

I recently bought Signs on DVD, and not having seen it before, I was scared outta my mind, the cinematography was very indicative of M. Night Shalaman in that it had an open book feel, that you were seeing the pictures in a book and following a family on their own.
The acting was great too and wholly believeable. Right down to the sweetest little child actress I have ever seen, she completely sold it every line she said.
I don't know how many others have seen this film, but I would like to discuss it. What were you reactions to it and why?

My reading life is dedicated to Malcolm/Hoshi fanfic, though my fave also involves trip. I tend to print (YES I know it's a waste of paper) out all the stories as I can never guarentee being able to find them again.
Other than that CHAKOTAY!!! Good grief is that man good looking!! J/C fanfic was my life at 18. Yes it is sad, but hey, no boyfriends means I have time to spend somehow!!!

When Columbia streaked across the Texas Sky for the final time?On 9-11?
When the Berlin Wall fell?
When Challanger exploded on take off?
When you hear Elvis was dead?
When Armstrong took a giant leap for us all?
When the last america chopper left Saigon?
1) I was sitting in my living room when the news was that Nasa had lost contact. My mum held out hope that it was a technical difficulty. My father and I believed otherwise and as the seconds ticked by the certainty began to be become ever more concrete. Then we saw the most saddening pictures of the beutiful bird broken and burning. My first thoughts were of the children that were left be hind. And also on how it could happen.
2) On 9/11 I was at hospital after being attacked the evening before. My eye was damaged and the chemicals they put in was supposed to last 6 hours it barely lasted 2 hours I cried so hard. My mum had phoned my dad and he told her. She thought he was describing a movie, it seemed to surreal to be anything else. We got home and watched the replays of the plains hitting the towers, chills went through me and my thoughts were on the thoughts of the people trapped inside. Then we saw the towers collapse their inferstructure weakend so dramatically. and the people no longer felt the pain and fear, they were in a far better place than this world. I prayed for their souls, that those that died went to heaven, irrespective of whether they had done bad things or not.
3) I was in the living room of my old apartment. I knew there were major changes happening, that something like the fall of communisim was happening. But I didn't really grasp it.
4) I was sitting down to dinner (Baked Beans, mash and sausages) on a metal table with pictures of horses (I was 6) I remember the news people showing the pictures of it lifting gracefully from the pad and then a minute later seeing it explode. My mum said nothing, my dad thought technical error, and I sat and thought of the people there, who would never eat baked beans, mash and sausages again, like my friends mum who had died earlier that year.
5) Wasn't born until '81

I saw the Andorians taking the weapon. that being said, it was a great episode Coombs (sry if the spellin is out) is definatley one of my favourites. I never really saw DS9 enough to get an idea of his talents, but he is blowing most of the cast outta the water.

That definately cheered me up.I am now listening to some orchestral stuff. I just wish I could share this (It's from a tv show, and by a guy called christophe beck, I can not praise this guy high enough, but I can't link it to here because it is big and I don't have web skills enough to put it on web space and share, sorry)
Well after many (Okay 2 to be honest) hours of trying to get this piece of music up. and with help from Transporter Malfunction. I gave up went for the easy option of getting someone waay smarter to find, compress and put this music in my post for me VBG You rock in ways untold. The mUsic is that of which I was talking about in my earlier posting.
Click for Spoiler:
The music comes from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer OST Once More With Feeling. (It comes from the episode the Gift, where to save the world AGAIN Buffy plummets from a tower and dies.)I find this music inspiring and chillout, I also find it alternately melancholy and cheerful in a non hyper way. I hope you enjoy it.
