Looking at your post count, I'd say that I'm probably more of the newb here now. Some things look completely different from the last time I was here. Hooray Forum Upgrades!

Considering I usually go to sleep at midnight and am up at 7, being awake at 2 am is late for me.

Does it count as "insomnia" if your job requires you to be up all night? I used to be a police dispatcher and worked the late shift. After a while, it becomes almost normal to go home at 8 am and go to bed.

I'm up late for some reason...must be mild insomnia.

I also haven't been here for over a year....too many forums, too much time spent with my nose in a law school book.

Good to be back, though!

I've got this book by Gibson and Sterling called "The Difference Engine" that would probably count as Steampunk. 19th century primitive computer...room sized...I need to read this one again.

Watched "Elf" and "Shrek 2" last week. Elf was ok, but Shrek 2 was hilarious!!!

Sat around and watched "Hunt for Red October" on TBS last night...still an excellent movie!!

Chef...we haven't seen him yet and it's getting to the point that Chef needs to be identified, lest Chef become Enterprise's Maris.

Last movie I watched was "Star Trek V"

That remake was ok sci-fi, but it should NOT be calling itself Battlestar Galactica. Trash it and go with Hatch's idea....continue from where the original series ended, don't mention Galactica 1980 (except the cloaked Vipers were cool) and it will be a lot better.

Nemesis was a warmed over STII clone...they should have dropped the "Shinzon and Remans" bit and had a straight up Romulan problem...that would have made a much better movie.

I was watching the preview for this after "Strategem" and saw the alien in sickbay

I liked INS; it's most disappointing aspect for me was that it bombed.

 

(The joystick was a non-issue for me, I often see everyday items in Trek and I do not mind it. In NEM Picard is using a "touch stylus" on a PADD, that stylus is actually a butane pen torch; I have a number of the same torches I use for my art.

 

A not so everyday and probably the most ridiculous prop since McCoy used a salt shaker as a medical device in TOS is in ST:4TVH; the main part of the device McCoy places on Checkovs head to bring him back to consciousness' is actually an impulse deck from any Enterprise [1701 refit and 1701-A] model kit.)

Actually, the main part is the top impulse/engineering section from a D7 movie era Klingon ship model.

I'd give Stratagem a 7 as well...not the best and not the worse ep ever.

Regarding the preview for next week, I liked how the MACO babe smacks Trip on the butt...nice to see that people can still be playful that way...
