  1. Despite all its obvious flaws, is Enterprise actually following the timeline that has been set by the first 4 series?

Is it just because it is only on its 3rd season that we cant see the bigger picture yet?

Like the Romulan war (or was it the klingons)...anyway, that war will probably be introduced in like the 6th season.....the Expanse could be destabilised and go into "temporal hell"..

These are all possibilities if Berman and Braga listen to the fans. Or am i being too naive?????

Please post your thoughts, this my first real topic on STF!!!!

  2. Yes, but wasnt the VOY/DS9 situation a good one? Although i cant speak for the american experience, i know that every month was tense, waiting for the next 4 episodes to come out, and then staying up until midnite on a Friday watching them.

There are the pros and cons yeah, but Enterprise is getting nowhere.

OOOOO! I'm going to go to the ENT forum and post now (ideas!!!!)

Again : thanks for the support...

  3. I would like the series 6, if it happens, to be set in the future, a couple of years after Voyager ended. This era appeals to me so much because an incredible tapestry has been woven of this time frame. It should be with a new ship, maybe the Prometheus or *ahem* a Poseidon class ship anyone?  It should be in deep space, probably the Beta quadrant. However, I don't think one ship should have all the attention, maybe one of the main cast could be on another ship or marooned on a distant colony...

Iterestingly, DS9 was originally going to be set in a frontier colony. However, the sheer expense of seting up a series based on this idea soon changed the developers minds.

    Sansooni,

Thats the premise to my fan fic, and my suggestion to Paramount for series 6......Except its Akira (this gems been wasted) exploring with an NX-class??

Like it anyone? Jump over here.......

  4. I wouldn’t want the show jumping between colonies because you need a show where the characters can grow on you and develop.

Interesting that everyone is so opposed to this idea . Maybe because it's a new idea(or so old that its new). It's okay not to like the idea but the character development issue isn't a valid objection. Afterall Columbo originated in this kind of series - can't say he isn't a well known character.

I remember a couple other series that did this as well they were generally related in theme. So you have a colony and a cargo ship...maybe it's a colony episode but the cargo ship can still make a brief appearance. A brief appearance is all some characters get anyway under the current character highlight format of Star Trek.

    Well i like it.

(read my article "My Ego" in Books & Fan Fiction). To throw another idea in:

An akira-class ship (we've seen too little of this gem) is exploring the Beta Quadrant 2 years after Voyagers return and 6 months after Nemesis. Then an NX-class comes from the past and the future is altered. Now, this is the premise for my fan fic, except the the NX gets destroyed in the 4th episode (or does it?.....).

    It would work.

like i said, read me article "My Ego" in Books & Fan Fiction.... <_<

to lower my ego "it might work"!!!!

  5. Hey guys, i guess you could say i have one big ego.

in an e-mail to the President of Paramount Pictures today, i wrote:

    Dear Mr. President,

I beleive I have found a way to save 30 years of science fiction tradition.  As you are probably aware "Enterprise" is not getting high ratings, due to this I assume that you are likely to cancel the show.

Now, in my opinion (from an Australia Trekkie point of view) this is exactly what happened with The Original Series, it was circa 2220 and there wasnt alot of interest (granted, it wasnt well known).  However, now that Enterprise has been going for 2 full years (well, 1 and a half in Oz) it is not receiving enough ratings.  There is one common thread: the era of the show.

I beleive that what Star Trek needs to maintain the 30 years of continual support is a fresh series.  A new beginning.  I have that solution for you, even though it is currently my own personal Fan Fiction, I beleive it has the potential to become something more, there are two main reasons for this:

    1) It is set after the successful "Voyager" (~2 years) return, involving everyones favorite "The Borg" as well as thread lines from the 2160's era (10 years after Enterprise).  It also contains some plot lines from the Deep Space 9 war with the Dominion.

    2)  It is set in the 2380's, which has the advantage of being "technologicaly advanced".  New technology can be brought in, and because it is set after all of the previous series, there is no risk of continuity problems (star trek timeline).

I have no agent, no lawyers, i am simply a 16 year old Australian boy trying to save one of my favourite shows from cancelleation.

Well, you cant blam me for trying.

I dont know the full extent of the rating plummet in the US, but from the news sources its pretty bad.

PM me if you think im mad and need to be shot, or reply with comments!

NOTE: This is the biggest undertaking of my life!

  6. This would be a very bad idea. Destroying the NX-01, the first Warp 5 Starship..They would have to change the name of the show..They would get a differently named ship..No more Enterprise..And I agree that the Self-Destruct ploy has been used enough in Star Trek..Time to discover a different way to generate excitement..

    like a new series?

soz, bout last post, find my new section entitled "My Ego" somewhere...

  7. well, personaly i believe that star trek should've been added to the "Enterprise" title. But I can understand the logic of the "cons".

It's wrong to remove the franchise just because it is 30 years old
