  1. yep, im not even 2 episodes into season 1 and im planning season 2's season premiere. Current tentative dates are :

    SEASON ONE:

    December 26 ------ then January 16 2004 - April 30 2004.

    SEASON TWO:

    September 01 2004 ------ December 09 2004.

anywho, on topic.....i am planning a massive battle scene that i will be creating. With Earth as the backdrop, and 200 ships (mainly Galaxy and Akira class with a few Sovereign, Intrepid, Curry (hehe), any others?) with a probe (similiar to the Xindi - for those that follow my fan fic, you will understand why!).

Early render shots will be on-line in the next day or 2, but i need your suggestions on what type of ships to include, what type of damage to inflict (of course the Poseidon will be the main focus) and if the Borg should come to aid?

there we go, a little bit of a spoiler for season 2, but meh!

    please tell me your thoughts!

  2. Leave everything you know behind, it wont work in the new frontier. We are heading for TOS, we the Romulan War, we need the foundation of the Federation and we need a twist.

season 3 is fine the way it is. Any romance is good, and if B&B want to put Hoshi in short shorts and a sliky dress, all the merryer!....but seriously though, we need not see a comparison with TOS until TOS, the NX-01 is exploring the virgin depths of space, areas that will eventually become Federation sectors, we need the volatility to lead to the foundation of the Federation, one for all and all for one.

I believe that the Enterprise sets are prefect for the time, they still hold true TOS, but they show rapid technological progress with Plasma screens etc. The tricorders will be evolved and they have the flip-top communicators, what more can you ask for?

The NX-01 carries 83 crew-members, the NCC-1701 carries 450 crew-members, with the excess of crew, the computers maybe toned down. Although the change was inevitable - that is, it was going to happen regardless.

ST: Enterprise cant be toned down anymore, because if it is it will do two things:

    1) Loose ratings, and eventually be moth-balled.

    2) Keep up the hostilities with alien races, because by TOS we will have our feet (remember Archer in Shockwave, Part II??? and Forest in Broken Bow "Its finally time to swim - that is, by the time Kirk and TOS comes around, they will have their space legs, and they will be able to make peacefull contact and explore strange new worlds and new civilisations).

They also need to insert a Human-Vulcan-Andorian alliance to show the 3 founding members of the Federation working together to make peace throughout the galaxy.

    Click for Spoiler:

and why the heck - in Twilight - didn't the Vulcans assist Earth and Starfleet when it was under attack - in the opening teaser??? That got me ticked off, the Vulcans shouldve been there to defend their "babies" / "allies"

  3. MP:POS #404 - The Beginning

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Peregin-fighter draws closer the a planet, Cardassian warships draw closer to it. As it swings past the planet it launches two blue torpedoes, that impact in the atmosphere, spreading lethal trilithium into the population.

On board a blonde haired man stands and sees the carnage. His small crew look in awe at the devastation.

“The resin is spreading throughout the planet, we did it Michael” a red-haired women sitting at conn reported.

As the massive Poseidon warps through space, Captain Miller walks into Sickbay, to see an empty biobed,

    “Computer, activate the L.M.H.”

“Good evening, sir.” The L.M.H. obvious programming was very crisp and straight-to-the-point,

    “Where is Commander Edwards?”

“He has been healed, I released him to his quarters.”

A couple of hours later the captain sits in his quarters reading a book, when his terminal illuminates and displays a “Priority 1 transmission” message, pushing the big button in the middle of the pad,

“Miller, alpha tango 4-3-2-9” after he states his clearance code, an image of Admiral Janeway appears,

    “Admiral?”

“Captain Miller, I’m afraid I have some bad news”

Captain Miller sits at his desk in his ready room reviewing the latest sensor data on a comet cluster when Commander Edwards, the chief engineer was looking worn and dirty, and Commander Evans, the first officer looked well rested. The three mates from the academy stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, then Miller stands and stares out of his window, he takes a deep breathe, but does not turn around,

“We’ve been recalled” Both commanders stare at each other,

“What!?” was all that Edwards could muster,

“The Klingons have demanded that we be de-commissioned because of our militaristic nature.” The captain sighs deeply before continuing, “Or they will withdraw their peace treaty”

“I cant believe your letting them do this! You’ve told us, ever since we met, that Starfleet needed teeth.” Edwards turns to Evans for support, “Tell him he’s crazy, that that’s guilt talking, not Matthew Miller!” the captain saves Evans from a difficult decision,

“It’s not that simple anymore Edwards, I am now a captain, I have lives to consider”

“Commander,” he turns to Evans, “please make the course change, straight for the Utopia Planitia”

    “Aye, sir”

In a darkened gray room, 3 Walrus-like creatures sit around a circular table, obviously from different factions, due to the hostilities between them,

“It could simply have been a coincidence”

“Your being naïve, the Tyi system is only 10 light years away”

“It was because of your incompetence that I lost 100 of my best troops” the quiet walrus speaks up, another person walks into the room, shrouded by a berika-type suit, he appeared humanoid, but in control of the aliens,

“ENOUGH!” he commanded, they immediately ceased bickering,

“How long until the device is ready?”

“2 months, we need to run more tests” the quiet Walrus informs the leader,

“We will never get anywhere if all we do is run tests.” At this, the leader stares at the large Walrus, and immediately a hidden collar sends electric shocks to its fur-covered neck.

“You have 4 weeks.” And with this, the leader leaves, and the bickering resumes.

In engineering, Edwards is approached by some junior officers,

    “Excuse me, sir”

    “What is it?”

“We were wondering if the rumors were true?”

“Oh? And what rumors would they be?”

“The Poseidon has been scraped. And that the Klingons are threatening war”

“It is true. We are heading for home”

In sickbay, the L.M.H. overhears two nurses talking about the return to Earth, and uses his link to the computer core and informs them of strange activities by the Captain. As the rumor mill flows, the nurses, during their break, talk to the junior engineers, who then talk to Commander Edwards. Commander Edwards then approaches the first officer. He hands him a PADD of information, detailing strange information requests from the captain.

The commander enters the captains ready room, and questions him about the information,

“I’ve just noticed some strange orders coming from Starfleet Command”

“Oh? What sort of orders, sir?” The captain swivels his terminal to face the commander, he stands and points out different sectors with Federation outposts,

“These sectors border the farthest reaches of the Federation, and these ones here grow dangerously close to the Romulan border”

“So what is it that your saying?”

“I’m saying there is an attempt to gain control of vital Federation sectors, and their growing. Strange readings are being detected across the Federation. This outpost” the captain presses a few buttons, and Outpost 670 in sector 1910 appears,

“Outpost 670 was evacuated for 3 days, no explanation given, however the commander was re-assigned to desk duty back on Earth, while Admiral Nevochavich took control”

“And here, Outpost 708 bordering the Bajoran system changed hands 2 days ago.”

    “OK, if your right...”

“If I’m right an invasion of the Federation is under way, and we’re too late to stop it.”

“So what do you want to do?”

“Tell no one, for all we know there may be an infected onboard.”

“Aye, sir” the ominous mood was interrupted by Lt. Harriman at the CONN,

    “Bridge to Captain”

    “Miller here, go ahead Troy”

“Sir, we are entering Sector 001”

    “I’m on my way”

The captain and first officer walk out of the room.

The same Peregin-fighter draws closer to another planet, it launches two blue torpedoes, that impact in the atmosphere, spreading lethal trilithium into the population.

On board a blonde haired man stands and sees the carnage. His small crew smile in satisfaction and they warp away to their next target.

As the Poseidon draws past Saturn a mysterious band of energy draws toward the ship, acting like a magnet, the Poseidon is attacked. On the bridge, the red alert klaxon sounds, the bridge dims, and the ship rocks violently from side to side, across the ship power is lost, and a strange energy warps the deck, lifting crewmembers and throwing them against the ceiling and walls. In engineering, the cylindrical warp core attracts the energy like a magnet. Sparks fly from different points across the core, with a non-standard warp core - lying flat across the engine room - the room electrifies, crewmembers become trapped in the power, and are shaken to death.

On the bridge, the senior officers try to establish the ships condition but to no avail with the energy ribbon making a deafening sound, no reports can be given. The ribbon comes through the bulkhead and captures junior officers and throws them against the viewscreen. The ribbons heads upward to the ceiling and its parting gift is de-stabilising a bulkhead, the beam comes crashing down, the captain manages to dive out of the way, however Commander Evans is trapped and the beam crushes him, he lays where he fell, his head contains a piece of shrapnel right between his eyes. The captain bends down, feels for a pulse, and begins sobbing, finding no pulse, the captain gets his index finger and thumb and closes his eyes, wiping the tears from his face,

    “Resume course.”

As the Poseidon leaves, the ribbon goes through Saturn causing massive cloud movement and the rings begin to wobble.

In the Walrus room, the 3 aliens discuss the Poseidon, the leader walks in and congratulates the 3rd walrus,

    “Good job, Ge’Hosk”

The Poseidon, now docked with Utopia Planitia and with massive scars from its incident, powers down.

Captain Miller walks off the gantry and onto the shipyards corridor. Admiral Janeway is waiting for him, and sees the anti-grav stretcher containing Commander Evans’ limp body.

    “I’m so sorry, Captain.”

“He was my best mate.” The captain tries to contain his emotions, remembering his fathers advice.

“Can you give me any details on the energy?”

“It was massive, Admiral. A deafening sound was made while it waved through the decks, picking up anyone in the way and throwing them against the ceiling or the walls. It came into contact with the warp core and, according Commander Edwards, sparks flew and it grabbed crewmembers and shook them to death.” By now, the Admiral and Miller had reached an office,

    “How many causalities today?”

“22 in engineering, 28 in the corridors, 10 died in sickbay and Commander Evans.”

“And what about in your attack a week ago?”

“We lost 58 people there. So on my very first mission I lost 118 people, that’s 39% of my crew”

“Captain...slow down. You were following orders. What about your medical staff?”

“The doctor, and 5 nurses were killed”

    “Would you like...”

“No, I’m going to try out the new L.M.H.”

    “Doctor Zimmerman would be proud”

    “I will keep him informed”

“I’m afraid I’ve got some more orders for you.”

    “Oh? What about the Klingons?”

“The Cardies are now a worry. We have just received word from them. The Maquis are back”

    “WHAT!?” the captain looks dumbfounded

“We received word from the New Zealand penal colony, Michael Eddington escaped at 02 hundred last Monday.”

“May I ask how he escaped?”

“We are still investigating. While we do, I want you to go and investigate.”

    “Admiral, no, please!”

“I’m sorry, captain but you’re the closest ship”

“What about the Mayflower? Or the Melbourne?”

“They are both awaiting a re-fit. 6 months tops” the captain sighs heavily, and considers the consequences,

    “On one condition, Admiral.”

    “Name it?”

On the Poseidon’s bridge, shipyard techs work to repair the fallen bulkhead, strewn consoles and dust and shards of glass. The captain walks around the devastation and sees the commitment his crew is putting in, I’m not ready for this he thinks to himself, he heads to his ready room.

Meanwhile, outside the Poseidon, 10 Peregin-fighters, 5 Danube-class runabouts and 9 type-2 shuttlecraft approach and land in the through deck shuttlebay. In the middle of the deck, 50 troops line in divisions of 10. The captain walks onto the deck, all the troops snap to attention,

“Major Chase DeCampo reporting for duty, SIR!” the major stares straight ahead, Captain Miller weaves in and out of the troop lines, he then weaves back to the Major,

“Major DeCampo, what is your role here?”

“To provide tactical assistance for the Poseidon and her crew”

    “Where are we going?”

“Tyi Alpha IX to find the traitor Michael Eddington”

“Very good Major. At ease before you break something.”

“Aye, sir” he relaxed and at seeing this, the other troops relaxed, with the hands interlocked behind their backs, they still held their forward stare.

“DISMISSED!” the captain felt powerful with that command, and the troops left the bay. Meanwhile another shuttlecraft lands and a Commander walks out,

“Commander Lena Stanozlof reporting for duty, SIR!”

“You too! At ease before you break something.” Immediately, the captain felt a certain lust for his new XO, an uneasy feeling swamped him, No, Dammit, not now!, the captains heart fluttered and missed a few beats, her blonde hair, her spotless and perfect face, her sleek physic, her strong legs, the commander shakes his head,

    “Sir?”

”Hm?” the captain was still in a daze,

“How are you, sir?” The commander looked concerned as her new captain looked at his feet,

“Oh! I’m fine...I’m sorry. Right this way”

The senior officers assembled in the situation room, with the many monitors surrounding the room displaying various ship functions, and the central monitor displaying a smallish picture of Commander Evans, and the other crewmembers lost during their first mission. The captain and commander walk in,

“OK people, this is Commander Lena Stanozlof, she will never replace John, but she is the new XO”

“Hi all” The senior staff stand and greet the commander, shaking hands and exchanging general pleasantries. Commander Edwards walks over to the Captain,

“Tell me sir,” the captain looks at him, “Did you pick her?”

“What? Oh, yeah - because of her service record”

“Sure, sure” the commander nudges his captain, the L.M.H. approaches the captain,

“I would like to thank you, sir.” The captain stares inquisitively at his doctor,

“For activating the holoemitters on all decks”

    “Oh, mo prob doc!”

    “Now, how are you feeling?”

“I’ve been better...” the captain didn’t particularly want to discuss it in front of his subordinates, but the Doc pursued it,

    “But?”

“Look, doc! I’m doing the breast I...” the entire bridge stared at him, he seemed to have said that loud, “the best I can.” The crew settled somewhat, then Commander Stanozlof walks over,

    “Are you OK sir?”

“I’m fine.” The crew begins to leave,

“Do you mind me going to my quarters?”

“No, in fact when you get to your quarters, why don’t you send me your lips...” there was a long pause, the crew stoped walking and stared at the captain, commander Evans smiled and silently laughed, “lisp...” the captain tried again, but to no avail, “list. Why don’t you send me a list of what you like to eat, and I’ll prepare it.”

    “Sir?”

“An introductory dinner with the captain, it is mandatory for all new senior officers” Lena turned to the senior members, and they tried hard to quickly wipe the smirk off their faces, but they were too slow, and they nodded.

In the room, the Walruses discuss the device when the leader walks in, Ge’Hosk reports,

“Sir, the device is ready for launch.”

“Very good, you may send it to any target”

“I’ll inform my men to send it to their second colony in their home system.”

    “Mars?”

    “Yes.”

    “Very good.”

The Peregin-fighter approaches Tyi Alpha IX, its current base of operations, a class-D world in un-occupied space.

Michael Eddington stands, and watches the world grow larger in the window.

The ship lands and re-fuels, various alien technicians work on adding phaser banks and photon torpedo launchers to the ship.

“We will give the Poseidon a run for its money, lets see where their loyalties lie.”

The new marine corps. platoon on the Poseidon train on the holodeck with the latest weaponry, Compound Grenade Launchers and a Tetryon Pulse Disrupter. Various aliens appear, and target practice begins.

A captain stands in the middle of a white-wash, he hears a constant heart beat, and then his senior officers from Deep Space 9 appear, they begin speaking in riddles,

“The Sisko has a new task, a new path.”

    “What path? Sisko enquires

“A path that will save destruction.” Images flash of Eddington, Miller and the Walrus aliens,

“Eddington!” The captain’s teeth grind together at the sight of the traitor, who he thought he put in jail,

    “You must stop them”

And with that, Captain Sisko is placed on the runabout that he left in orbit of Bajor, and he accesses the Federation database, establishes where the Poseidon is and sets a course. The Yangsekian stretches and warps away.
