  1. RC, I keep hearing rumors that you'd like to take over the boards...maybe we need to start the impeachment process if our "president" doesn't start behaving. BTW RC...thanks for pointing out his little joke earlier. He WILL pay for that.

  2. LOL I never lose, I sometimes give in but never lose.  :andorian: Just ask Amy lol.

First of all...WHEN have you ever given in???? I don't remember that EVER happening. And second...I'm on RC and Takara's side. I would pay to see you and dill defeated!!!

  3. I remember watching Starsky & Hutch on tv when I was a kid. Starsky was my first big crush! I couldn't get enough of him. When they were in reruns, they aired every night at midnight. I remember setting my alarm clock and getting up in the middle of the night to watch them. I had to be sure to keep the volume down, though, so my parents wouldn't wake up or I'd be in big trouble. A few times my brothers would get up with me to watch which was okay, until they started blackmailing me for my allowance or they'd tell my Mom what I was doing. There is one episode in particular that will never leave my mind. It's the episode where S&H go to a cabin in the woods and they meet up with a rattlesnake. I have a huge fear of snakes of any kind and that episode gave me nightmares for weeks! When I first heard about a movie, I was excited. But the commercials I'm seeing now make it look cheesy.

  4. When I was little I used to mix milk with Kool-Aid. I don't do it any more though, I can't stand Kool-Aid now. I don't really know if this would be considered weird or not but I can't eat grilled cheese unless it's covered in applesauce.

  5. She cheats  ;)

;) Excuse me???? I'm the one who cheats??? Who is that was telling me how, if they were on Survivor, would sneak items onto the island??? And who edit's my words in our IM's to make it look as though I say something I haven't??? And who guilts me into making this post so he can win this "bet" we have going that I NEVER agreed to in the first place???? I must be delirious...I cannot believe I am actually doing this...letting you win AGAIN! I'm sure it's not me who's "cheating!" Ugghhh! I want to know where the smilie banging his head against the brick wall went to? I need that here!! Enjoy your 500th post my friend.....you will be paying for it!

  6. Last week I got a burger at Burger King for $1.58. The counter girl

took my $2 and was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents

from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the

nickel and 3 pennies, while looking at the screen on her register.

I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me back

two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help and while he

tried to explain the transaction to her, she stood there and cried.

Why do I tell you this? Read on.

    Teaching Math in 1950:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100.

His cost of production is 4/5 of the price.

    What is his profit?

    Teaching Math in 1960:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100.

His cost of production is 4/5 of the price, or $80.

    What is his profit?

    Teaching Math in 1970:

A logger exchanges a set "L" of lumber for a set "M" of money.

The cardinality of set "M" is 100. Each element is worth one dollar.

Make 100 dots representing the elements of the set "M."

The set "C", the cost of production, contains 20 fewer points than set "M."

Represent the set "C" as a subset of set "M".

    Answer this question:

What is the cardinality of the set "P" of profits?

    Teaching Math in 1980:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100.

His cost of production is $80 and his profit is $20.

    Your assignment:

    Underline the number 20.

    Teaching Math in 1990:

By cutting down beautiful forest trees, the logger makes $20.

What do you think of this way of making a living?

Topic for class participation after answering the question:

How did the forest birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down the

    trees?

    There are no wrong answers.

    Teaching Math in 2000:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100.

His cost of production is $120. How does Arthur Andersen determine

that his profit margin is $60 ?
