  1. I will get a high-powered weapon and start picking off studio executives."

If he tries that, then I will act as a human shield for Mr. Moonves, because NOBODY hurts the boss.

All right, I'll bite. What is so special about Mr. Moonves? He's the president of Paramount, right? Or something else important?

Is he a particular supporter of Star Trek? Or is he the one who ultimately pulled the plug on Enterprise, hence your support of him. (I take it from some of your posts you didn't like Archer and the gang ... me neither, not so much.)

So why would act as a human shield for Moonves? Explain yourself, HEW-MAWN. :D

  2. ^true, but that reminds me of when I talked to some one who didn't know who Captain Kirk was. I was talking about how my birthday (March 22) is the same day as Shatner's and Kirk's and he said "Who's Captain Kirk? A famous pirate?" I was like :D

Even when I wasn't a Trek fan, I knew who Captain Kirk was. I've even met someone who didn't know who Darth Vader was!

Yes, Gamera, this is just an illustration of how the world is heading straight to Hades! Imagine someone not knowing who Darth Vader is???? Plus, it seems that people are becoming less and less culturally literate anyway. There are so many references to Star Trek across the media ... I'll bet half of it just sail right over people's heads! Sad.

I liked Stargate the movie (wasn't that James Spader? Kurt Russell? Now there's a couple of honeys I could definitely get behind .....but I digress).

I've never seen SG-1. We have the most basic cable we can get .... so no Sci-Fi, no Spike. Just our DVD's to keep us company.

  3. What did you think about the Children of Time episode, season 5?

Of all the characters, it is Miles O'Brien and Odo who react as I would react.

He and Sisko are the only ones who seem to have left any family behind.

Worf --- Jadzia is his Par'machi and she's with him. Kurn is lost to him forever. Alexander is being raised by Worf's adoptive parents. The House of Mogh no longer exists (although Worf is now part of the House of Martok.)

Dax --- her man is on the scene with her. There's no one else back home.

Kira --- just broke it off with Shakaar. Her whole family is dead.

Bashir --- he's alone, between women, so to speak.

We don't see much of the rest of the crew, but I'm sure many of them had families back on DS9.

Sisko --- he's puzzling to me in how nonchalant he seems about Jake and Kasidy. Also as the Emissary the people of Bajor are his "children." He just doesn't seem as upset to be stranded a I think he should have been.

Miles --- I agree with him the entire time he is arguing to forget all those people and just focus on getting back home. His change of heart at the end is too abrupt to be believable. They should have let him stay mad and resentful.

Odo --- I would have done the same thing. Sabotage to save Kira.

The whole time they keep talking about saving 8,000 people by allowing themselves to get stranded again. But I just don't see it that way .... if they don't go back, those people just never existed. They weren't going to be killing anyone. Plus, had they gone ahead with the plan to crash, it's not like they would have been spending any time with the people they actually found anyway.

I liked Kira better when she was saying things like, "It's like stepping on ants!" (Can't remember the episode, but I think it was from the third season.)

Hope I did that spoiler thing right. I know there are people out here who are just now seeing some of these episodes and I don't want to ruin it for 'em.

  4. I was disappointed that Jadzia was killed off but I think her death would have been better if it had happened in "Change of Heart" rather then waiting for the end of the season.

As for killing Dax off, I think it was far more interesting to see how an unprepared trill dealt with having the symbiont 'thrust' upon them unexpectedly. I know I'm in the minority but I liked Ezri. Not as much as Jadzia but I liked her.

I would agree with that statement ... it would have been a much more poignant death in "Change of Heart." As it was, the death itself seemed very abrupt to me. It was almost like they were trying to off the character in the most meaningless way they could do it ... maybe to punish Farrell for leaving? I dunno.

I wish that someone would just spill the beans on what really went down with Farrell's departure! You know, a real "Behind the Music" style expose .... :D

You know, I hated Ezri Dax the first time I watched Season 7 (on t.v.). Then we got the DVDs and have watched the series twice now beginning to end. (We're in the middle of the third coming up on Season 6). With repeated viewings, I find her less annoying than I did originally.

I may love her this time through!

  5. DAX should have died when Jadzia did.  That would have been very interesting to see what happens on Trill when a SYMBIONT died.

    344195[/snapback]

Now you're talking .... that could have been an excellent one or two part episode. And Jadzia's death would have been WAY more tragic and profound if Dax had died along with her.

    I love it :D

  6. I vote yes .... but only if I write it! :D

And Levar Burton should direct. (Well, maybe, what do I know?)

The king B should produce ... that would be Behr, not Berman.

Seriously, I want a DS9 movie but only if the true creative force behind DS9 is involved and IN CHARGE.

  7. Vin Diesel is kind of creepy IMO.

    Adam Sandler is tres sexy.

BUT right now, my big crush is Sean Bean :D

(Like my first post out here on this Trek site and now I'm all thinking about Boromir and LotR again! And I was trying to branch out, too.)
