Well, I remember reading on inet about a year ago on a very cool borg site how they came into existence. Alas, with so many crashes I know the site no longer and what I only recall was a tragic lovestory that started the Borg.
Apparently, on a nice lil planet some princess lived. The people on that planet were very advanced in medicine and other cybernetic stuff. When first contact came, it was from a neighbouring planet. Apparently a war started or something but she fell in love with some alien from the other planet. But then he died because her own royal house didnt want peace with that other world and she went total berserk so she used nannites to assimilate the entire royal house, then the city and then the entire planet. After that the other alien species got assimilated and from there on they spread across the galaxy. Its a damn shame I dont remember the site anymore because it explained it obviously much better then I just did. Perhaps anybody else knows? B)

In my opinion the most important news stories included:
The Madrid bombings, The Beslan Schoolhostage-stituation, The Asia quak and more for the dutch, the murder of Theo van Gogh and the death of Juliana and Bernhard.

Perhaps, but wouldnt that have made the show jump the shark (hm, how was that expression again?) Anyways, I would have liked several other episodes were all loose ends are tied up and we get some foreshadowing on what is going to happen in the future like rebuilding the federation and the worlds affected by the Dominion such as Cardassia.

I believe he played Yelgrun, one of the Dominion's Vorta in an episode were the Ferengi try rescue moogie and exchange Keevan for her. I think Yelgrun was the Vorta, overseeing the exchange but I am not sure. B)Iggy pop...i belive he did a guest spot on DS9 -
Yes there are way to many. Logically, I was pleasently surprised about Species 8472. Anyways, I'd much rather see some more non-corpporeal carbon-based-humanoi bipedal life-forms as the topics says B) But I suppose that simply costs to much with all the special effects so I understand the producers and writers... Not like it, but I understand B)

On topic though, I kept wondering. The Tribbles reproduce like... well, bunnies dont even come close with the Tribbles being born pregnant and all. About their homeworld... fit the Tribble's expand exponentionally, at a given moment, there simply is no more space left. What happens them, would we get like an entire planet covered in Tribble's? And with that, all the food runs out as well... would they turn to cannibalism in order to survive?

War, ST DS9 wasn't much interesting till after the Dominion war began... The war gave so many characters actually some character development... something that the other series of startrek often lack. B)

Actually, I have read cases wich the infants were even younger. I don't remember the links but I think its logical to assume that out of all these deaths a lot of mothers must have been pregnant as well or with their childs recently born.

But the hunter is most likely right, we can save this discussion about God in the Qo'nos section where I would be most happy to participate. I doubt people will apreciate it if it took place in this topicKing, I knew that was what you are going to say - and I really think that should go in a different topic. This is a thread about an horrific incident and IMO - out of respect for those suffering - we should not turn it into a argument about the nature of God and the purpose of life. However, once it is moved to Kronos I will have a response.
