Some updated totals from Box Office Mojo... as of Monday, the US/Canada box office figure stands at $152,175,578 and the international box office is $67,746,148 for a total of $219,921,726.

Linda Park had a small role as a police computer geek on Tuesday's Law & Order: SVU episode Liberties.

It was Victoria Day long weekend in Canada. My daughter and I went to see Star Trek Monday and it was a full theatre for a 3:00 p.m. showing. Bodes well for another strong week.

but no series really looked too much at the Beta Quadrant.I have to disagree. Vulcan, the Klingon and Romulan Empires, Andoria, Risa, Rigel, Son'a Prime and a number of other planets from the Beta Quadrant have been the subjects of many episodes/movies in the franchise. Other than the Founders and the worlds they controlled, they only really scratched the surface of the Gamma Quadrant on DS9.

Interesting that you say "Domestic" there when it is for both the U.S. and Canada but a few years ago you were ready to throw a live grenade at me when I said that Canadians were Americans...Calling it "domestic" is not my terminology but the terminology of the mostly US-based movie industry. And I would still be ready to throw a live grenade at you for saying that.
lol But answer this, is Canada in America?
It's all a matter of semantics, isn't it. IIRC, I was actually going to figuratively injure you for saying that Canadians are the same as Americans, not that Canadians are Americans (figuratively because we Canadians abhor violence).
Whatever you want to call it, the box office totals are impressive.

Rather than a reboot of the post-TOS series, I'd like to see what the 24th century has to offer based on the timeline from the new movie but with different characters. Maybe in 10 or 15 years I could handle a reboot of TNG but it's too soon now.
And if anyone wants to discuss Chicago-style pizza they are free to do so in the Off Topic Discussions forum. And I'm not even close to being annoyed.

Box Office Mojo has international box office figures now. As of Thursday, the domestic box office is just over $104.6 million and the international box office is just over $49.2 million. The total box office to date is $153,875,505.

I really liked finally discovering where the nickname of "Bones" came from! The way it came about in the movie is not why McCoy was called Bones in TOS. The term "sawbones" was/is a nickname for a doctor or surgeon and Kirk shortened it to "Bones" as a nickname for McCoy.

Box Office Mojo has Tuesday box office numbers listed and Star Trek pulled in just of $6.5 million so the total to date (without international numbers) is now just over $93.2 million. They have some limited numbers internationally with the UK, Ireland and Malta at just over $9 million, Russia at almost $2 million, New Zealand and Fiji at almost $500,000 and the Ukraine at just over $190,000.

Except, when it comes to Romulans...

Takara: Thanks for the link! Box Office Mojo has actually been my primary source all along (I posted it in the top of this thread actually), but when I was checking it they hadn't yet updated the total domestic gross to include Monday.D'OH! And I don't have the excuse of running on 1 hour sleep, etc. for not noticing that.
I am glad the movie is doing so well. Hopefully this will get people interested in earlier Trek as well.

Eratosthenes, here's a link to Box Office Mojo which has daily updates, totals-to-date and other information on a movie's box office.
One thing to keep in mind, the $86.7 million number does not include the international box office. That number just reflects the US and Canadian box office numbers. International numbers of rather slow to come in.
