I wear a lot of black but if I decide to be more colourful it's blue

I am told I look good in black. If it were up to me I would wear all black, with hints of silver or gray. The problem are

 

1) You can wear black jeans at most 2 or 3 times before the color starts to fade

2) You don't want to wear too much black in a business setting. When business casual is the norm black looks gloomy or Goth even if that is not your look. In an evening setting it sometimes looks too formal. One time we had a going away party for my boss - a full Vice President - I looked better than he did, and he was even dressier than usual

3) Any little flake, hair follicle, lint, or anything else really sticks out.

4) Forget all about wearing anything black in the summer or even late spring. Just too damn hot.
