DrWho42 13 Posted January 16, 2004 In "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier", we encounter the God of Sha Ka Ree, and then, in Star Trek: The Next Generation, we meet the Cytherians in "The Nth Degree". Both had appeared as floating heads (I doubt that the Thasians were involved ["Charlie X" {TOS}]), and the Cytherians could never leave because of the Galactic Barrier between the center of the Galaxy and the outside. They do differ, but are they of the same kindred? doctorwho42avenger@hotmail.com :P :P
Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted January 16, 2004 Well, the god of "Sha Ka Ree" wasn't a god, but infact an alien. Hmm... I saw "The Nth Degree" only once, so I don't really know. The alien in ST-5 seemed angry and vengefull, while the alien from "The Nth Degree" seemed like an explorrer. They might indeed be of the same species. A l t e r E g o 9 Posted February 23, 2009 I have always thought the two were the same and that the Cytherians seen in The Nth Degree were the jailers of The God Thing in ST V.
VaBeachGuy 12 Posted February 23, 2009 I never connected the 2, of course ST V was never a favorite of mine so it's rarely on my mind lol
Voyager recruit 0 Posted February 23, 2009 As for me, I would have to say no. But the Cytherians are an intriguing race.
