Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted November 9, 2003 However, which do you prefer: combat & war or sci-fi? I, myself, prefer sci-fi with the occasional combat story. I enjoyed the Dominion War, the action-filled stories of the movies, and the Borg-conflict in VOY. With ENT being set in the 22nd century, rought times are to be expected. subcommanderbeavis 0 Posted November 9, 2003 A bit of this, and a bit of that. Great sci-fi writing makes war-oriented storylines more palatable.Star Trek,in all of its forms, has usually had the advantage of talented writers, who are able to weave a great story around all of the explosions and running phaser-fights inherent in any combat episodes. My preference runs toward the TOS-style pure exploration stories,as in "Who Mourns for Adonis?","Miri",and "Spectre of the Gun".
Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted November 9, 2003 Well, I've been watching TNG Season 1 episodes, and some practically have no combat at all. I miss those days.

KayTroi 0 Posted November 10, 2003 I prefer sci-fi but I can watch a few with a few elements with combat and war thrown in. :) :) B) It really depends on the storyline.
