Star Trek’s William Shatner sent a message to the members of the Expedition 30 crew currently in residence on the International Space Station.

Shatner decided to send the crew the message after he found out that some of the space-related songs from his Seeking Major Tom album were being played aboard the ISS.

The video opens with the theme song from Star Trek, and then Shatner sends his message, from the comfort of his couch back on Earth.

“…If you listen to my record,” he told the crew, “the time will pass by quickly. Not quickly enough…”

Shatner went on to wish the crew good luck, and the clip ends with part of Shatner’s rendition of David Bowie‘s Space Oddity.
