Vic 17 Posted February 27, 2012 Christopher Plummer, best known to Star Trek fans as General Chang in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, won an Oscar last night at the 84th Annual Academy Awards. The Oscar, for Best Supporting Actor, was for Plummer’s role in Beginners, where he played an elderly widower who comes out of the closet after the death of his wife. This was Plummer’s first Oscar win in a sixty-year long career. “You’re only two years older than me, darling,” said Plummer to the 84-year-old Oscar. “Where have you been all my life?” Competition for the Best Supporting Oscar included Kenneth Branagh (My Week With Marilyn), Jonah Hill (Moneyball), Nick Nolte (Warrior) and Max von Sydow (Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close).
