Vic 17 Posted April 6, 2011 Inquiring fans want to know who the villain be in Star Trek XII will be and Roberto Orci dropped a hint in a recent interview. Or did he? It’s time for the teasing of the fans to begin, in the long run up to the release of Star Trek XII, due out next summer. Rumor had it that the villain for Star Trek XII might be someone from the first season of the original series. What did Orci have to say about that? “I don’t think so,” he said, in a video which can be seen here. “We have talked about the villain may be a person, or it may be a concept. We don’t know yet – or nobody knows yet, but us, I should say.” Orci was asked if the villain was a “creation that has existed in the mythos before.” “No comment,” he said with a smile. oldfan1 0 Posted April 9, 2011 Khan would be an interesting choice if they go with a TOS first season villain. Replacing Ricardo Montalbán will be difficult to replace. They will have to have an actor do a different version of Khan as they did with Spock. Attempting to replicate (bad pun intended) Montalbán's style of acting from Star Trek II would seem to be more of a parody than a homage.
He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted April 9, 2011 Adrian Paul (Highlander: The Series) looks like a young Montleban, but the voice is way off. But if TPTB know what is good for them they will not bring back a familiar villain. Fans of the new movie who are not long-term Trek fans would see it as a cop-out.
