Vic 17 Posted September 29, 2010 Rachel Nichols, best known to Star Trek fans as Gaila the Orion Starfleet cadet who had a fling with James T. Kirk, has been cast on Criminal Minds. Nichols will play FBI cadet Ashley Seager, who will appear in several episodes of the police drama. Criminal Minds had planned on the addition of a new female regular cast member with the departure of J.J. Jareau (A.J. Cook), and at first it was thought that Nichols’ character would be a regular, but this will not be the case. Nichols will appear in only three episodes.
