U - Promise

Recommended Posts

I know adds for this are everywhere but the premise is certain stores put a percentage of your purchase in a college fund (it can go towards your student loans if you don't have children) if I have to buy something anyway I go through U-Promise. Every little bit helps.

That's interesting but I wonder if are the prices are inflated above normal retail.

That hasn't been my experience, I know with Staples you just make regular purchases with a credit card registered with U-Promise or if you shop online just access a normal site through the U Promise website. My major disappointment was amazon.com quite participating. Sometimes I check prices at a site and then when I'm ready to purchase I go through the U-Promise site.

Oh, if purchases with a CC were mandatory we would not be eligible; we operate our household on a strictly cash only basis. The money we save on fees is substantial in our opinion but thanks anyway. :)

I think you can get grocery store cards etc - there's just none of the stores in my area; there are even product discounts. I'd recommend going to the site and checking it out. They have different options

I admire your principles re the cc - you save yourself a lot of grief. :)
