Stephen of Borg 2 Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) 'Star Trek' grosses $7 million Thursday nightMay 8, 2009, 03:09 PM | by Nicole Sperling J.J. Abrams' Star Trek is on its way to boldly going where no Star Trek movie has gone before: to a huge opening weekend. The film bowed at 7 p.m. Thursday night and grossed an impressive $7 million in 3,849 locations. Sure, those numbers were boosted by the geeky fanboys who were salivating to catch the movie as soon as possible. Still, such a great start should help propel Star Trek's weekend gross to as high as $75 million. Quite impressive for a franchise that was considered dead a few years ago. http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/05/star-treks-open.html Edited May 9, 2009 by Stephen of Borg

A l t e r E g o 9 Posted May 8, 2009 I found a site with conformation of Stephens info but I cannot say how "official" it really is. FRIDAY 10:50 AM: Sources tell me that Thursday screenings starting at 7 PM, including midnight shows, made approximately $7 million for Star Trek. "There was a big core fan turnout," one of my insiders says, "so you can't extrapolate to weekend numbers." Nevertheless, it's a great start. http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/week...-star-trek-65m/ Edit: Here is a Variety conformation. http://www.startrekfans.net/index.php?show...st&p=495450
