I just saw a preview (on a rented video) for a movie called Solaris. It looked kind of interesting. Has anyone seen it? I'd be interested in some feedback about whether it's worth renting or should I save my money?

My personal opinion would be to take your money and run (fast). But my opinion probably isn't too meaningful without a reference. I was bored and used the fast forward button

 

1. not a lot of action...lot of talk and some changing from to present between scenes. Very thin plot...heavy on flashback and thinking.

 

2. the "mystery" is never completely explained.

 

3. kind of gloomy - secret turmoil ridden characters.

I rented it a few weeks ago and I did not like it.

I haven't seen it myself but everything I've heard about it is BAD!!! I took a quick look at the Box Office Mojo website and the public definitely spoke with wallets on this one.

 

Production cost: $47M

Marketing cost: $30M

 

Box office returns: $14,973,382

 

Translation: MAJOR BOMB at the box office.

it was ok at the very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very end for like 5 minutes, but the rest of the movie is a total bore. makes you think, but you dont know about what. it never really does fully explain ......ANYTHING! lol.
