Greetings to all Trekkies/Trekkers. The purpose of this forum is to talk about the Phenomenon that is STAR TREK. The Star Trek Universe created by Gene Roddenberry started originally as a television series in 1966 and since then has grown and “Boldly gone were no man has gone before”. With one of the largest cult followings, Star Trek fans come from all walks of life, young and old, in all different professions, all around the world, followed by conventions and fan clubs that add to the encounter. Star Trek has motivated the design of technologies such as the mobile phone and MRI and the naming of the NASA space shuttle ‘Enterprise’ for the endeavor to further space exploration. Star Trek is still influencing and directing the scientific world even today. Star Trek has become a house hold name with common phrases being used in our day to day language. Its ideologies have broken down barriers that divide and inspired many towards self improvement. Every true Trekkie/Trekker has had an experience in there life whereby they have been impacted and changed by Star Trek that has given them the right to be proudly called a Trekkie/Trekker. People from all over the world not just enjoy the Star Trek experience but have become a part of its universe.
