BERLIN (AP) - German police say 350 piglets were killed when a truck carrying them overturned in Bavaria.

 

Ingolstadt police say the truck carrying 650 piglets tipped over on Tuesday afternoon while taking a sharp right turn.

 

Police said Wednesday that the 43 year-old driver had been turning off the autobahn for local county roads to avoid a construction site. He and a 58-year-old passenger suffered mild injuries in the accident.

 

Police say the estimated damage was some euro200,000 (US$309,000).
