Farmer Kill in Bull Attack

A Shippensburg area man was killed Monday evening when he was attacked by a bull on his family farm.

 

Nelson Byers, 57, was tending to his cattle in a field along the 1100 block of Baltimore Road when the accident occurred.

 

He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of multiple traumatic injuries, according to a news release from Chief Deputy Coroner Todd Eckenrode.

 

Pennsylvania State Police and the coroner's office are investigating the death.

 

State police said the bull was destroyed because of the danger it presented.

 

Poor guy, he must have let his guard down.
