ussvwbeetle 0 Posted January 28, 2008 I was watching Armageddon on TV (Great movie) and saw the part where the Shuttle was destroyed in a fireball by asteroids. After watching that my gears started to turn. Is that firey explosion possible? I know that without oxygen, fire can't happen. If so then that explosion isn't correct. Could anyone shed some light on this?
Stephen of Borg 2 Posted January 28, 2008 according to interviews I have heard, there would be no fire in space but it looks cool in a movie or TV series

He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted January 28, 2008 So, strictly speaking, my farts would have to be powered by a nuclear explosion to light in space?
ussvwbeetle 0 Posted January 28, 2008 I guess that would be true, unless you consume some Nuclear waste that may help your situation.
