Tv Guide's 'Sci-Fi Preview' is reporting that the channel is considering the production due to the lack of scripts because of the writers' strike.

"I just got a call from NBC-Universal. They want us to take another look at the project," Moviehole quoted Mark Stern, SciFi Channel vice president, as stating in a magazine.

The show will be set on the fictional planet Caprica, approximately fifty to seventy years before the events depicted in the re-imagined series.

It will tell the story of the Twelve Colonies at peace and living in a society not unlike our own.

But high technology and a startling breakthrough in robotics brings to life the age-old dream of marrying artificial intelligence with mechanical bodies to create the first living robots - the Cylons.

They are researched and built, ultimately leading to the First Cylon War.

thanks for the link :yahoo:

The writers strike may actually be a blessing in disguise since it may be the only way to get Scifi to make the pilot for Caprica. I definitely think it would be an interesting series, especially since this is supposed to be the last season for Battlestar Galactica.
