Vic 17 Posted September 3, 2007 Hurricane Felix has strengthened rapidly into a major storm with winds near 165 mph and the fiercest possible rating, the National Hurricane Center said. The center said the Atlantic season's second hurricane continues to pick up steam as it churns through the Caribbean. http://rss.cnn.com/~r/rss/cnn_topstories/~...9305/index.html
Theunicornhunter 2 Posted September 3, 2007 Wow, this has been a rapidly progressing storm - it's heading nearly the same path as Dean - those poor people in Mexico, Belize. I was starting to think there weren't going to be any hurricanes this year - now two Cat 5's back to back. I don't know if anything will slow Felix down before it hits Nicaragua. It will be interesting to see if this is a fluke or the late start of an active season - they tend to move upward (ie Florida) later in the season.
