Kor37 9 Posted January 8, 2007 Farm Worker Attacked by Herd of PigsReuters LONDON (Jan. 8) - A British farm worker needed hospital treatment after being attacked by a herd of pigs, Norfolk police said Sunday. The 51-year-old man was knocked over by a sow at a Norfolk farm in eastern England, prompting the rest of the herd to attack him. "It seems that when he fell, he was attacked by one of the sows and then the other pigs joined in," a Norfolk police spokesman told Reuters. "He suffered bumps and bruises and a head injury though it is not considered to be life-threatening." The police spokesman said it was the first time he had heard of a pig attack in the area -- but it was unlikely the herd would be put down. Has Al Quida gotten to the pigs too??? Theunicornhunter 2 Posted January 9, 2007 I remember being chased bya pig (a sow) when I was little girl - still don't like pigs. I also remember hearing my mom worrying about wild boars in the area when my older brother and sister had to walk home from school (and yes this was a rural area)
trekz 7 Posted January 9, 2007 (edited) I'm thinking it's a herd of pigs that got ahold of a copy of Animal Farm! From my experience growing up on a farm, sows can be moody, and sometimes cranky and mean. Plus they can weigh quite a bit. I have seen a couple of family members knocked down by large, cranky pigs that did not want to go the way they were being herded or driven. I have also seen these family members quickly get out of the way of large sows. This incident does not surprise me that much. I also wonder how experienced a farm worker this person was.
