Kor37 9 Posted December 27, 2006 I remember Ford as a decent man who did a pretty good job in the short while he was President. RIP

trekz 7 Posted December 28, 2006 I was not thrilled when Ford pardoned Nixon, but in retrospect it was both the right thing to do, and an incredibly principaled thing to do. He put the nation's welfare ahead of his own political agenda, and very few of his succesors imo would have taken such a step. I suspect in future years his stature as a President will rise. I am personally very glad he holds the record for longest lived President. Rest in Peace.
Krissy Phaserman 0 Posted December 28, 2006 Farewell, Mr. President. Your place in history was secured long ago, but maybe with the vision of hindsight, as TrekZ stated, your stature will rise. Say hi to Ron for me!
Odo 0 Posted December 28, 2006 President Ford Not only was he the only president to not be elected But was the only MAN to put the country ahead of his political future. He brought honor and respect back to the office. His legacy has yet to be written Am proud to say he is a Michigander
