LordOfTheBorg 1 Posted November 23, 2006 Ok, now i know there has been a lot of discussions about phasers, but seriously, it is interesting. I was reading an interesting article about a place in the middle east, that is a training ground for a US (lets not get into a big discussion about this) and at this place, there is actually fake weapons that shoot lasers thata computer attached to the troops vehicles and their body, and it actually reactes to the laser and acts as if the person has "died" i wonder if this could be applied and then turned around and actually made into a real phaser? Comments anyone?

LordOfTheBorg 1 Posted November 24, 2006 why is it so far from actual phasers?
Kor37 9 Posted November 24, 2006 I think the hardest thing to duplicate would be the stun setting. We are already on the brink of having laser weapons for the military.
hangon 3 Posted November 24, 2006 The main reason is power supply, the amount of energy needed would mean you would need a power cell the size of a car..lol The US airforce has the "only" known laser weapon the "Airborn laser" the platform for this weapon is a 747!! Laser tag is simple infra red beams just like a tv remote, the in thing now is laser tag with cell phones that have blue tooth
ARMS 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Plus referring the first post, I think the key words were 'simulated damage', different to actual damage, how many of your enemy are going to be wearing the reciever
