VaBeachGuy 12 Posted August 10, 2003 Here's where you can see the spiders at work: http://216.239.37.104/search?hl=en&q=cache...k/+startrekfans If you notice the #1 user on the Online list is the GoogleBot Spider. The Spider Saved the page as soon as it logged in and this is a snapshot of what it saw while it was here, the date and the time it happened. If you also notice that in the above page STARTREKFANS is highlighted in yellow. That's because I did a search on AT&T's search engine (which is powered by Google) and the search was for STARTREKFANS. So by having the Spiders here it caches everything in the pages it visits. So if someone types in a search for something, doesn't even have to be Star Trek related but if it was in a cached page our site will come up in the search. Here's another example: http://216.239.37.104/search?hl=en&q=cache...go+startrekfans The search I used was "Alterego Startrekfans" I put STARTREKFANS in there because otherwise I would get 5,000,000 hits of the term or name alterego. But as you see, Alterego is highlighted one color and startrekfans is another color indicating two matches. To get an idea of what has been cached so far, just under the search of STARTREKFANS check out this link: http://www.att.net/cgi-bin/websearch?cmd=q...ry=startrekfans there's 40 pages of links that all lead to us. So to the Spiders I say B)   B)
