trekz 7 Posted August 31, 2006 (edited) This is a real loss! :P Ford's performances were among my favorites in films and TV shows in which he starred or appeared. Blackboard Jungle was one of his great films, where he appeared with Sidney Poitier. Other classic Ford films include Gilda, The Big Heat, and 3:10 to Yuma (soon to be remade). I remember him in the movie Midway, portraying, I believe, Admiral Spruance. I also fondly recall him as Sam Cade in Cade's County, a TV Western/drama of the early 1970's. Cade's County was referred to in Las Vegas at the 40th Anniversary Star Trek convention by Mariette Hartley who jokingly mentioned that she also appeared with William Shatner as gueststars in an episode of Cade's County as a couple. Mr. Ford will be greatly missed but his body of work will live after him and continue to entertain in the future. Edited August 31, 2006 by trekz
Stephen of Borg 2 Posted August 31, 2006 I only knew him as Jonathan Kent on the first Superman movie. It is sad when someone dies, but I'm just not part of the generation that knew him well
Kor37 9 Posted August 31, 2006 Ford put out a tremendous amount of work in his career. He will be missed but at least he lived a full and long life. You can't ask for much more!
