Here is a list of programming which mentions Trek:

Thursday, July 20

12:00-1:00 Prism Comics: Increasing LGBT Visibility— Meet the all-volunteer force behind the comics industry's only nonprofit organization supporting LGBT creators, stories, and readers, and learn how you can join in. Prism's accomplishments, activities, and upcoming plans will be discussed by the organization's officers and committee chairs, as well as members of its advisory board, which includes Paige Braddock (Jane's World), Colleen Coover (Banana Sunday), Tim Fish (Strugglers), Terrance Griep (Victoria's Secret Service), Patricia Jeres (former director of marketing communications for DC Comics), Andy Mangels (best-selling Star Trek author and DVD producer), Richard Neal (owner, Zeus Comics, Dallas, TX), Joe Phillips (artist, Cali Boys; writer-director, Stonewall and Riot), and José Villarrubia (The Mirror of Love).

3:00-4:00 Star Trek as Cultural Phenomenon— The original Star Trek series was a phenomenon of the 1960s. Whether dealing with issues of war, race, superpower conflict, cowboy diplomacy, utopian hopes, or apocalyptic fears, the universe Roddenberry built reflected the idealism and anxieties of its decade. What does the popularity of Star Trek throughout its various incarnations say about the persistence of certain American values? Does ST continue to mirror the enduring dreams and fears of our culture? Discuss these questions and others with Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, Jr., son of the creator of Star Trek and filmmaker behind Trek Nation, a documentary about the ST phenomenon; David Brin, science fiction author and futurist, winner of multiple Hugo and Nebula awards, writer of the Star Trek graphic novel Forgiveness; and moderator Stephen Potts, professor of popular culture at UCSD.

4:30-6:00 The Costume Designers Guild: Costume Centric, Session 1— For the first time in Comic-Con history, the Costume Designers Guild will present a three-part panel series on costume design and its profound influence on world culture. This first event will focus on costume design for television and includes designers Robert Blackman (Star Trek: Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager), Kathryn Morrison (Lost), Laura Goldsmith (Alias), Jill Ohanneson (Six Feet Under, Foxfire), and Caroline Cranston (Smallville). Here's a rare opportunity to hear from costume designers and see sketches, fabrics, costumes and film clips from some the most influential productions of the last five years. Moderated by CDG vice president Pamela Shaw.

A new book of Trim's work is being premiered at Comic-Con this year by Hermes Press. Author Anthony Taylor (The Future was FAB: The Art of Mike Trim), CFQ magazine editor Jeff Bond, director Robert Burnett (Free Enterprise), and legendary model maker Greg Jein (Star Trek, CE3K) will offer a peek at the book and a discussion of Trim's influence on the current generation of filmmakers. Presented in association with www.miketrimart.com
